I'm surprised nobody here has talked about the singer from La Roux, she is so an androgyne pin-up.

The band's name originates from Jackson's red hair; she has said: "To me, it means "red-haired one" – and it does, vaguely. It's just a male version of "red-haired one", which I think is even cooler, because I'm well androgynous anyway. So it kind of makes sense"

I'm not too sure what she means by 'androgynous', I'm guessing it's a look-thang... But I'm not really feeling it in her case. Heh

She is just talking about her look, but she does seem to embrace that aspect of herself and is comfortable with it.

This was probably a more fem shot of her. In her music vids she is more boyish. She does have a crazy androgynous aesthetic, well I think so anyway.

In fact La Roux is a self confessed Androgyne... She admitted as much in an early interview which sadly I no longer have a copy of or URL for.

She looks very uncomfortable when she sings live, though. It's a shame.

Like her music, though.

I met her last year at the Sonar festival in Barcelona, she's incredibly down to earth...and very pretty.

It's possible a career stratagem, she's most probably straight in real life.

She looks plenty female for me, but I've also never seen someone who had a female body and was androgynous and actually looked convincingly androgynous.  They always look female to me no matter what, whereas andro. with with male bodies can confuse me...I might be biased, though...I love me some male androgynous folks.  But she's cute, I'll give her that.

Her name is Eleanor. Not La Roux. La Roux is the name of the band and while "Roux" is male "La" is feminine also furthuring the androgeny of the group.

She IS straight and "Bulletproof" is not her only video. This song is from 2008



Her outfits are far more androgenous in this video for sure. Very fetching in my opinion.

She's actually very popular in the GLBTQ community and it kind of freaks her out when women throw their underware on stage....
