Regarding: https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/topic,74983.20.html

While discussing a previous topic, finding male dates, linked to above, I ran across a dating site called 'Love my FtM.'  I do not have access to the site itself, but from the front page, it would appear to cater to anyone at all seeking to date an FtM, worldwide.  Arch suggested that I begin a topic thread on it.

The site is easy to find via Google.  I'd simply like to hear general reactions to this site.  Is this something you would use?  What, generally, do you think of this?  Are you at all surprised by its existence?

While it is entirely possible that your enemy entertains some irrational prejudice against you, for which you bear no responsibility... have you entertained the possibility that you are wrong?

I'm on there. And like most dating sites, nothing ever came of it for me

Hmm, I'm really interested in this.

What bothers me, though, is it'd probably create an environment for ->-bleeped-<- ->-bleeped-<-s. I mean I feel like making an account, but I'm not so sure.

Have you met FtM ->-bleeped-<-s?

Personally I haven't, but I've heard of some FTMs running into ->-bleeped-<-s and it's a topic I've seen quite a few times being brought up on youtube by FTMs.

Which could be a problem with this site. A woman or man might prefer to date FTMs or might be interested in trying it out, which could be perfectly innocent, however there are ->-bleeped-<-s out there and their intentions might be a bit insensitive. I am very much interested in this site, but there is a bit of caution you'd have to take with it, y'know? I'm glad there is a site that recognizes FTMs but at the same time I find myself wanting someone to be interested in me for me, and not because I'm FTM.

I'll make an account and see how it goes, but it seems very small right now. I only see a few women in my country there.

Ogod. Yes, I have, one. She is a trans gal and very nice and cute...but she seemed to be working her way through all of the available trans guys and hitting on them. Even me.

My friend had a profile on Adam4Adam. At first he was open about his trans status, but he apparently kept attracting ->-bleeped-<- types. It was so bad that he had to go stealth on there.

Bingo. And I think that concern would be on a lot of people's minds.

But there's no real way I can think of of providing a service for a particular group like that, and not having ->-bleeped-<-s hanging around though. Hopefully they at least have a good reporting / moderation system set up to control the whackjobs.

I'm not surpried by the existance of the site. Where there is a market, it will be catered for.

Is it something I would use? No, I'm not a dating site sort of guy.

I just signed up to give it a test run. I think it's making me feel worse about my self-esteem though, lol.

I just feel quite boring and not all that attractive personality wise, but we'll see.

Well, I tend to look for character rather than personality. :P

I am on a social networking site (with dating stuff) aimed at the trans community called ur not alone. It's filled with ->-bleeped-<-s, and when I went into the chat room to talk about "trans stuff" I was harassed. I'm on an "alternative" social networking site which allows you to select if you're ftm, mtf, intersex, gender queer, etc. It also has a big selection of orientations to choose from. I get ->-bleeped-<-s on there, and strange old men.

I'm also on a queer personals site, but there are major problems. Transgender is listed as a sexual orientation, they have a very binary thinking on the site (ex: born male transition get "the surgery" now you're female so just put female).

I've encountered a few ->-bleeped-<-s, but currently with how I feel I think that I might actually be okay with somebody fetishizing me because I feel like crap about my body, somebody appreciating it might be somewhat helpful.

I think I'll join the site, see what it's like.

I am viewing a very interesting front page.  I see advertisements for things that Susan would rather I not describe in detail, and from the nature and content of those advertisements, I am led to suspect that this site deliberately caters to a fetishistic clientele.  Is there a more mature layer that I am not seeing?

As for making your person the object of that fetish... I will not insult your intelligence by claiming precognizance, but I will suggest that the experience might actually prove to be worse than the dysphoria, as difficult as such a thing may be to imagine.  Perhaps someone here has a relevant anecdote.

Most people like, if not require, some form of fetish sex, so all they are really looking for is someone else who likes that same fetish from the other direction.  Happy, HAPPY, are the couple who share the same fetish.  Unless they are into the weirdest fetish at all, abstinence, in which case they sit around and think about not doing each other.
FIGHT APATHY!, or don't...
