Megan

I'm going to this new job, and I am going to go by a different than my own name (with the clients). I want the image to be youthful, somewhat masculine, athletic, all American as well. But it has to be a name people will remember well.

1) Cody
2) Dakota (this seems to feminine for the image I want though)
3) Jimmy
4) Chase
5) Ashton

or any you recommend, I have to decide in 3 hrs. short and sweet.

IMHO

Cody may not be memorable enough.
Dakota is very lousy.
Ashton will work if you have an English accent (preferably upper-crust) but otherwise no.
Chase is unusual but not out there.
Jimmy might be a little harder to carry off - to make it professional - but would work well if you can carry it.

:)

Edit:  Oops.  Just saw the time of your post.  Too late.  What did you decide?

Well good thing that I don't have to decide till Sunday... they only hire on Sundays, since I went to the club and they were like "come by on Sunday bring an outfit!". I am probably going to go by as Jimmy, but there is a lot of James in the place (based on myspace)... so Chase could be better. The job isn't professional, it's gogo dancing, so I just want to project a certain image for higher tips. I want something between Jake Ryan (16 candles) and a James Dean persona. Then add a lot of smiles, and energy to it. I have to think this out more.... since it just wouldn't be the real me.

It would be my second job, since my 1st job is more or less in the day time. However if the pay is good it might be a full time job.

My real name just wouldn't work at all, since it fits a business man in Italy.

For a stage name I would go for Cody or Dakota, also depends on your costume(s). Jimmy doesn't do it for me, guy in blue overalls type name (sorry to all and any jimmy's on here ). Ashton always reminds me of Ashton Circus, and nowhere stagey enough for me.

JMO and good luck with the job :-*

Well, even for a stage name I still like Chase.
Dakota just doesn't do it for me.  But a lot depends on your location.  (I live too close to the Dakotas.  I think if you live farther away from them then the name sounds more edgy and off-beat, but around here it just sounds odd and fakey.)
And Jimmy might work if you can manage it, meaning overcoming the blue overalls image and making it much more fun than James.

Good luck.  Sounds like it could be fun. ;)

I went with Cody, (still not hired because i have to be there exactly at nine, but i'll do it next sunday), but I was chatting with future clients and making friends so I called myself Cody right then and there.

Chase would had been my second choice, but it didn't feel like a name I can live with. Dakota sounded just too fakey. Cody would suit me.... and I even change my nationality since the guy ask me what I was, "I'm Italian".

It's like a whole new identity, kind of freaky.
