Hewwo,

As my user name may give hint, I go by the name Alexis (not birth name, but the name I have chosen to go by).
I was born in 1985 as male (cries) lol. I am to many, a very complicated person, and have not informed all about my desire to do something about being the wrong gender. Some people do comment due to my very feminine body, but the only people who actually know are the 4 or 5 people I have chosen to tell.
I come from a family that is not very understanding about SRS so as such, my parent's are under the impression that the clothes and makeup is just a 'goth' thing. Seems to be the best cover, so far..

Any Q's I shall try to answer but for now, this is me and.. yeah, hai!!

The goth excuse seems to work for some. I never tried as I'm a tad older than dinos but younger than dirt. (not to mention going the other way)

Like LordKAT, I never tried the goth thing.  I'm not quite as old as dirt, but my daughter is too old for goth.

It sounds like you are well started on your journey to becoming whole.  I hope you find here some friendships and help and the opportunity to offer some help yourself.

Thankies for the warm welcome. I guess I am coming from a similar background to most, non-understanding family, uncertainty of who to tell, and the torment of a few but I'm learning to deal with that.

I'll be 25 years old in May of this year, sooo close, nooo! 
So it's pretty late, but am *hoping* to be on hormones at some point, but it's going to involve alot. I've been told that until I make the step to see a doctor about it, they then want proof of me living full time for two years before they would refer me to an endocrinologist for hormones? 

Everything in life always has to be compliicated lol

Oh, and I work nights (yay!!) but it's with an engineering firm, all guys and all not the kinda people who would understand, nevermind support a trans person so I kinda feel not too happy about that, but it pays and one day will pay for FFS.

Your story does sound a bit similar, I do the goth thing myself. I do like the music, fashion, etc but, it isn't exactly who I am just, something I enjoy; the only reason why I define myself like that to others is to justify my long hair, makeup, etc. I've gotten away with wearing a bit of women's clothing in public as well, but I am always left with wanting so much more.

It is a very good cover, however when I came out to one of my friends they were more worried about the revelation that I wasn't really this ubergothic person rather then worrying about me being transgendered. Which is funny when I think about it.

The thing with your friend made me giggle, most into gothic music are concerned that you are a "true" goth lol. I listen to alot of goth but so much more, from Mozart, Chopin, LAdy GaGa, Burzum, Ozzy Osbourne, Scorpions, basically everything
But the goth cover is most definately a good cover, I've gone out totally female but because I'm in gothic fashion no one seems to mind, though my size does help too seen as I'm 32"-24"-32" so at least to anyone walking behind me I look female  But I've only gone out like that when I'm away from home, my parents would freak out if they see some of the things I wear out hehe. Most they saw was a pair of REALLY baggy PunkyFish jeans with pink stitching, and a .skinny fit Ministry Psalm 69 hoodie I had made.
