Tyler

I am sorry if this thread is a repeat, but I had to post it!

Is this for real? $4500 for SRS, I thought the cheapest I was going to get it for was about $10,000

Interesting, I posted another Thailand clinic a few days ago where the prices were 5 times this.  I do know that cosmetic surgery 'holidays' are popular in Thailand, but some of the results have been terrible. And that has been simple stuff, like breast enhancement in GG, and they have been left disfigured. Some liposuction were people have ended up very ill and totally disfigured. I think Janet and Shelly posted that you have to know the surgeon. Anyone can cut a dick off, building a female genital area requires a little more skill. You tend to get what you pay for ???

I also have the adage that if it sound too good to be true, then it is.

Hi Tyler

That is a very cheap price and immediately sets off alarm bell for me.  The lowest price i have ever seem in Thailand is about $US1000, but seriously, would you?

You only get one chance at this so you need to be sure of everything.

In my opinion the surgeon is the most important thing.  Don't base your decision on price.  I have had a good look at the linked site and notice they don't talk about which surgeon they use.  Have you asked them?  I would be very supprised if it is someone i have heard of, and trust me i have done plenty of research on Thailand.

So, do plenty of research, speak to people with experience, speak to the doctor.  Be absolutely sure before you go.  I have decided on a doctor but i have yet to speak with him.  That alone could change everything.

All the best on your journey

Price doesn't matter when it is still out of reach.  But I am leery of a medical tourism site.  They are in the business of making money, remember.  And who pays for their services.

I remember somebody who offered surgery for $4500, you can't PAY me to get anything done by a hackjob like him, a much better option would be srs at yanhee hospital ($6500).

chettawut recently quote me $24,000 for a full package...don't forget the wages are very low...

6500 is doable even for the most modest of incomes save people work towo jobs but id go with chattawut for the exp level they have jmo though
like a knife that cuts you the wound heals but them scars those scars remain

Damn I keep following Jesse around the threads,
Move your bum gorgeous.

There was an expose on Aussie Telly about the Thai cosmetic industry and it did not reflect well. There are many excellent surgeons and many are trained OS to the highest standards. There appear to be some who have not achieved the highest credentials.  They may be allowed under Thai law to operate, I'm sure they are very professional.  I would be happy for them to operate on someone else but  not sure about on me :o.

I was never seriously considering getting the surgery, as I go with what other people say. Sounds to good to be true.
Thanks for all the nice responses :)

when considering cos of surgery in Thailand bear in mind the average wages can run something between $6 to $15 a day so all the ancillary staff  and all the services they provide will be costing peanuts so while the figures mentioned in this post seem low it's only because Americans are vastly over paid.
  •

Tyler

Sorry for the bump, my previous post stated I was never seriously considering getting the surgery. I meant the surgery from the $4500 surgeon. I am going to get SRS, just not from them.

OMG don't ever get cheap surgeries, not just SRS ones! You only have one life and you have one body, don't go throwing yourself at dodgey cheap shifty doctors hoping to make a quick buck off you :S I see it on documentaries often, peole going to these third world countries for dead cheap surgeries and they think that it's a great deal, then they come back ugly and destroyed; depending on the surgeons integrity, you could even die :S

IT's a sad fact that people in this world will go to any lengths to make money off you..

LordKAT

Also a sad fact that USA has highest medical expenses but not necessarily the best care.  Third world ( hate that term, is only one world) doesn't automatically mean bad.

More Americans go overseas for surgeries.  One of the many reasons is the cost of malpractice insurance.  and that surgeons are considered gods, at least in their own minds.

When the time goes, I plan to do what many have done, go to Thailand.

I know a girl who has had srs with Dr Chettawut earlier this year and from the sounds of it, her care was superb, much better than the private care offered in the U.K. She is also very pleased with the results. But as people have said, this is a one time thing, it's really not worth taking a risk on a surgeon with an unknown or questionable reputation.
