Well, it seems to me we have quite a few gamers 'round this place, and of course I couldn't resist putting up a 'battle of the consoles' poll. ;)
Added the most recent ones from the 6th generation and added an 'other' option for older ones or some I might have missed.

So, bring it on; what's your favourite thing to game on?  8)

My personal favourite is the PC; mmorpg history and all-that and my hand is on auto-wasd by now. However, I also own a PS3, nice for dvd's/blu-ray's and the occasional exclusive title, also prefer playing sports games on a console for some reason...

my heart says PC but the ps3 is winning me over (cost to gaming ratio as well as the controller, keyboard/mouse may be precise for fps games, but the gyro in the ps3 controller has potential)

Besides, you can't mod for games on a console ;)

PS3! I've loved Sony Playstations since PS1.
Xbox 360 is great too, though.

Due to the ability to constantly upgrade components, the PC will kick the crap out of any console. Once a console is released, the hardware becomes static and is only 'upgraded' when you buy a new unit - which you have to wait for the manufacturers to produce (anyone else remember the wait for the N64?)
My current PC is far more powerful than my PS3 - and console games suffer from being 'dumbed down' to work on them. Farcry, for example, had killer AI on the PC, but on the consoles the AI couldn't figure its elbow from it's ->-bleeped-<-.

In general I lean towards PC, but certain games with amazing graphics (cough, FFXIII, cough) look incredible on my PS3/TV.  I'm going to have to get off my butt and hook the TV up as a monitor for Starcraft 2. *melts*

That's a given, but upgrading a PC tends to be quite a bit more expensive too.

About the same, actually, considering that the brand new consoles are so expensive. My last four PC upgrades have only involved the graphics card, which are much cheaper than a full PS3 unit.

Agreed. FFXIII on a large, full-hd tele... I nearly humped it.  8)

I am another "Other".  I have an Xbox, that I played and I like PC games.

The PC, Even though I use Linux, a combination of Wine and console emulation does a bit more for me then my X-box 360, Wii or PS2 does.

I do want to get FF XIII for my 360 and Dynasty Warriors Gundam 2 (I know it came out in 2008, but I don't play games that often to justify the purchase) for the 360 as well. For the PC I might start playing Eve Online again, but otherwise I suppose I am looking forward more to console titles.

I like Xbox 360 for the multiplayer (call me crazy, but I find even the ->-bleeped-<-s on Xbox Live kind of funny).  Sadly the fan recently died on my 360 after a good 3 1/2 years without problems.  I'm debating if it might just be cheaper to buy a new one with a better HDD rather than try to get the old one fixed.

But I still get some games for PC if they're not really multiplayer-centric.

I sadly cannot afford a gaming console for myself right now. I have an old Gamecube that I'll drag out from time to time so my niece and nephew can play some Zelda, Metroid, or Spongebob (I got this game specifically for them). I started playing Assassins Creed on my brothers 360 but it got the RROD and he sent it back in for repair  :-\

It should be back next week! We also have a new 1080p LCD television now so I'm really really hoping to get some Final Fantasy going real soon! I've played a couple of them and was hooked!  :)

I will always love the classics. Atari, Ninetendo, Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis....  8)

I love my wii, its great fun, a family console where my 3 year old god son can beat me in almost everything..... LOL

Lately I've been playing the 360 since it's my newest console. And SoulSilver/Diamond (DS.)

The 360 would be great if it didn't malfunction all the damn time.

Super Nintendo Entertainment System

Say what you will about the PC and its ability to do anything and everything.  But the fact remains that the SNES had the best linup of games ever made.

I voted PS3 because I like to think about the present, but I have to say that the SNES is the greatest of all time.
