Beyer considers Masterton mayoralty bid

After a three-year break from the world of politics, Georgina Beyer is considering running for mayor of Masterton.

Three years after retiring from Parliament, the Kiwi transgender icon says she decided to "put a toe in the water" to gauge the response to a return.

The 52-year-old discussed the idea with attendees at the 2nd National Trans Human Rights hui in Wellington this weekend, where she says the reaction was supportive.
