Those examples weren't cross-dressers because those outfits were standard fare for males. In this era(jokes aside) , men in Scotland, Thailand, Burma, and Saudi Arabia all can wear a skirt like garment considered male attire. A man who "cross-dresses' in Iran would have to wear long pants and a long sleeved jacket summer and winter along with a head covering. In the Illiad, Achilles dressed as a woman to hide from Agamemnon and avoid the war. Women's clothes were for more restrictive and body covering than male clothing back then.

Gladiator shoes have been popular here since last summer or 2 years ago. I thought there were for summer, but I see some ladies here already wear them in spring.




Yesterday, I strolled in a street of Seoul, and looked around some shoe stores. Virtually all shoes for women were gladiator heels. Heel height looked > 8 cm (3 inch) and even > 5 inch. There were all for sale, and price tags were less than US $20.
This year, flat galdiator heels are exepcted to be trendy.

Actually galdiator shoes look neutral, and fashion experts recommend not to wear them with formal dresses. To my eyes, they looks sexy with skinny jeans.  I wish to have them, but the biggest size for mass sale here is 250 mm (mine is 265 mm, US size 10). Sigh.
