There is a feature story on theCNN website -- a story that began in their iReports community -- entitled 'I Am Transgender, And I Want My Voice To Be Heard'. The goal of the mini-project was described by CNN this way:

Transgender is a term that describes a broad range of people who express their gender in different, sometimes non-traditional ways. We asked reporters who are transgender, transsexual, or questioning to create a message they would like others to know on a piece of paper and take a portrait holding it. We compiled some of the most powerful messages and stories, including this one from Wolfgang Von Zennishionn who wanted to post a messaged telling his friends and family that nothing caused him to be transgender. He said there was nothing anyone could do to make a person transgender: "This is who I am."
"Be yourself; everyone else is already taken." Oscar Wilde
