I have a name - Stacy.   I think it fits pretty well. I am actually really, really excited about this. My wife, however, is not so excited about it, which I understand. Hence I can't actually exhibit any excitement about it, or seem to happy about it, but don't be fooled world because I am VERY happy about it

I changed my user name from arbon to stacy_o

If I ever got my name changed again (legally) to something obviously Male (like Antonio or something), my parents would flip. Even though I would be happy as a camper, my parents wouldn't

It kind of sucks when you get happy about something but you can't share it with the people around you because they would be angry instead of happy for you

Yea that sucks.. I hope your parents become more understanding I was very delighted to find out that my bf was perfectly fine with me transitioning <3 I don't know how id have coped if he didnt.. Its important that the people who matter care and understand you..

I don't know what to rename myself! I've had some thoughts but I never clicked with anything.. I thinking about having a name like Lilith..

For some people, finding a name that they like is no problem. People like me though, just cannot find the right name. I've been through so many names I've lost count. Hope you have better luck finding a name than I do

Hmm well I see at your display pic that youre a christian, so why not adopt an archangel's name? I think archangel names are really cool! Raphael, Gabriel, Ariel, Azrael, Jeremiel, Jophiel, Metatron, Raguel, Raziel, Sandalphon, Uriel, Zadkiel, Chamuel, Michael (pronounced Mi-Kae-El )

I have been hung up on a name for a long time.....it was always one of those things like why bother if you can't actually live in the world by it and it hurt. It was one of those things that by allowing it even just in my head would just make it harder to hold myself together in a way.

But my therapist...well last week she says to me if I want her to refer to me by a name other then my male name she can do it, and even change it on all the paper work, and even in the appointment book, and even with her receptionist. wow, really I said. Yep, she.

I ran with that. I just got permision from someone to be more the person I want to be in a way. She validated me.

I talked to my wife about this after and all hell broke loose, sigh.

But it turned out all right, we went on a long road trip over the weekend - we were craving some GOOD chinese food so we drove to portland, or.  heck only 1200 miles round trip but worth it. the time in the car gave us a chance to really talk things out. 

She is not happy about any of this, it really hurts her. She is loosing the man she fell in love with. It all makes her very afraid. At the same time, though, she tries very to be supportive. We even went shopping  .  I am blessed to have her in that way.

I don't want to be to hopeful about the relationship surving this, at the same time I am not writing it off either because there is a chance.

Just one day at a time.

I have a handful of femme names on my mind. Michele is the closest to my male name, and it links to my french heritage. On the other hand I love the name Rachel from the Torah, and being Jewish it would help to have a hebrew name.

Those names are really cool, Raphael is totally the best though! Why? Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!!

On that note, Leonardo, Michelangelo, and Donatello are good names

Heehee, well thats fine I think Jesus is a spanish name isnt it? So is Raphael I think.. I like Antonio tho, it sounds nice and cute (in a manly kind of way ) How about Lorenzo or Roberto?
