Hello I figure a proper introduction is in order =). I've known for a long time (since I was about 13) that I wanted to be a girl. I came out to my mum and sis but my sis is the only supportive one. My mum just doesn't understand but I know she means well.. she just thinks it's some lie or satan or that being transgender is the same as homosexual. She's an extremely conservative christian but I know she loves me and she tries to understand at least :). my sis is very guyish and hates sexism (constantly ranting about it, sometimes gets a little annoying LOL) but she understands me pretty well =].

I get depressed about my situation a lot and earlier this month decided I either had to transition and be a happy human being, or constantly be depressed about being male for the rest of my life. So I've started slowly but surely transitioning (not as quickly as I would like! but I know going slow and steady is the safe way to do this). my main concern right now is getting on hormones and maybe antiandrogens. If nothing else getting on antiandrogens would sure give me peace of mind. unfortunately.. i still live at home at 19 and no one seems to want to hire me. I live in a really conservative town and there are a lot of truck driving farmers around here xD. I want to move somewhere nicer REALLY badly but again.. that kinda takes money that I don't have.

So.. anyway! before I let myself ramble too much more LOL. I have a question for all of you and that is, if I start hormones now at age 19 will I have good results?

well yor situation is a little similar to mine with the unaccepting community and everything , but don't let that make you rush into things , first i think you should see a therapist about it

You are plenty young for hormones to do its thing. Many of us are much older.

It is true, you need a little money to move (or alot based on your destination). Buses are dirt cheap (unlucky me, they can't swim ). Then find some employment. You can do if you lived for .. 6 years knowing what you knew.

I found myself in similar situation where either condemn myself to a lifetime of misery, or pack my things and move on.

Many other girls started later than we did and they look fantastic. and I guess it also depends from person to person. So put a smile on your face, and think it's neither early or late, but just the right time

I said the same to my doc, it was either anti-androgens or anti-depressants! 
At least I'll have some peace while I take care of myself [work on my girliness ], enjoy being alive a little more
