I'm so ready to get my ears pierced, very excited about it.  Problem is my employer states in the employee handbook, that no piercings can be worn during work hours.

Any good way to hide the studs, or any other way to keep the holes open?

Well, with my hair, people haven't seen my ears in years, if it is cold I don't like my ears exposed and always pulled my hair back in two ponytails to avoid the wind hitting my ears. If your hair isn't long enough. then clear plastic studs may not be too noticeable.

If you have had the piercing for a while or if it is a decent gauge an 8-hour shift won't make it close up especially if you put a stud in there at your lunch break. I don't have much experience with it though, what kind of work doesn't let you wear earrings?

they are so vulnerable to infection/problem early on and you don't want to keep taking them in/out for a while. you probably don't want to use the plastic studs for a long time, as was recommended to me when i got them done.

so basically you may not be able to.

Try clip-on ear rings maybe? I dont know :\

Kyril, Where you five months ago?? lol! I was fretting about getting my ears pierced for like an entire year; I was looking for something exactly like your link so that I could hide them. In the end, I'm kind of glad I didn't find those anyway. Once I had it done, it was very anti-climatic. No one really cared at all. In fact, I even got a few compliments.

I guess it does not state about the holes, and I am quite sure that you can keep the holes open. Just wear piercings while it is not working hours.

I just recently had mine pierced,(Jan.1st). When u do, I do reccommend finding a piercing shop. Doesnt hurt at all. My wife had told me piercing with the gun type hurts...Anyway., I got a bery small diamond. And when I wanted to cover it up til they healed, (which takes 4 weeks), I would get a small piece of bandade and cover it up.I had a dinner with my father and he never noticed.
After they heal, you shouldnt have any problems taking them in and out. Worked for me...I too agree, alot of people just dont care anyway..My mother even said she loved them....Hope this helps....Christy

Getting my ears pierced was one of the big steps for me not too long ago. Like getting the ears pierced signed the deal in pain. lol
It took me a few weeks of being a coward before my wife draged me into the local Walmart and made me do it. The old lady that did my ears was obviously confused. Why would a 40 something strait man want his ears pierced.
I was very happy to get it done.
Some places sell flesh colored earings and gauge items so the piecing is not obvious.

Kyril, those look like the ticket...ever see them actually used (how noticeable when they're in)?  I suppose I could put a little makeup over top of the end...

Hikari, I can think of a couple places that won't let you wear them.  Some law enforcement will not, for safety.  If you get into a scuffle with a suspect, you don't want them getting pulled out.  Some 'clean room' type factory work don't like it either (medical and/or food prep).

Forgot one.....if you ever had an MRI, the machine is magnetic.  Walking near it when it's off will pull anything steel towards it....So definitely not for an MRI tech!

(I have no problem getting it done, it's just that I don't want them to close up afterwards - trust me I wish I could just go out now and do it!!!)

Yeah you have to keep something in it for a few weeks at least until it's done healing.

I'd go with kyril's suggestion if you can't get away with a discrete stud. I've never had a problem, but then I was fairly lucky with work and would just kick up a fuss if asked to take any of mine out...besides, if you have a flesh tunnel, people tend to complain more when you don't have anything in. hehe
