Hi girls! Um.. I'm a little emarassed about this but I want to know more about this, my mum never taught me these girly things.. So I made a new thread about it and I hope you sisters will give me plenty lots of advice ;D Thanks for reading! <3

Um basically.. Today, I thought I'd buy some pairs of tights that ar designed to specifically shape bums and thighs (they have reinforced cotton at the hip and thigh area) and since this is the first time I've ever worn tights, they were really difficult things for me :( I eventually managed to get the things on after an epic struggle, but am I supposed to wear panties/bikini briefs under then or over them? How do you wash them? How long can you wear them for? can you wear them at night? How hard can I pull them on before they break?

Thanks again for your time, sisters :) xxx

Panties under them, hand wash usually, hated wearing them so little as possible from my point of view, breakage differs but some take very little.

to put them on, scrunch them so that you are putting on the toe and have all of one leg scrunched right down to the toe. let the fabric slip through your fingers as you stretch it up and over your leg, repeat for other side.  any other method just don't work.

I don't know about shaping tights, but I'm wearing regular tights right now as I sit here and sip my coffee as they are what I wear sometimes as pajamas on cold nights- so yes, you can wear them at night. I personally wear panties under them but I suppose that's optional. More hygienic though to wear them, I would think. You can wear them until they're dirty and need washing lol And as for washing, read the care instructions that are on them. I use a small net laundry bag specifically made for washing delicates and use the "handwash" cycle on the washer. Dry them over a rack. This is regular tights I'm talking about, the ones you have may need special care so be sure to read the laundry instructions.

Yea! In the UK at least, they sell them in Tesco's and Boots (In tesco they only cost £2, Boots sell em for £6) I really dont know if these tights will actually work or anything XD I thought I'd try them anyway, I'd love to try lots of feminising things :) Thanks for the help too! x

I hope your fingernails and toenails are well filed and smooth, too. You don't want any snags.

At first they are kind of a wrestling match but when you finally get them on they feel pretty good

Once you get it down to were it's just as easy as putting on any other socks they feel even better  :icon_chick:

One more thing: Don't put them on right out of the shower or right after applying moisturizer. Make sure you're completely dry. If your skin is dry and you're buying the right size tights you shouldn't have to pull all that hard.

And the underwear goes under them. I suppose you could wear a pair over them too if you like the look better that way, but you definitely need something under them.

There aren't any health concerns that I'm aware of about wearing them for long periods of time, unless there's something specific to trans women that I'm not aware of (tight tucking for long periods of time might be an issue, I don't know). But they are very delicate and wear out relatively quickly.

Even if, say....you have a broken, sharp, or just plain long nail etc...you can learn to hold them with the side of your finger as you slide them up so your nails don't even touch them or barely do :)

my gfs prefer to wear a pair of pants underneath for hygine and one over the top to avoid the dreaded saggy tight syndrome where halfway through the night the crotch of your tights has mgrated to a position slightly above the knee :P

i generally dont wear tights, if its cold enough to wear them its probably cold enough for leggings, if not i have pretty nice legs :P

Yes, yesterday I had a shower and moisturised myself up after with body butter, I was gonig to put on my tights, but I thought it wouldnt be a good idea due to the moisturiser :P I bet the tights woulda sucked it all up like a sponge! Not a good idea to wear any tight clothing after moisturising, I say :police:

Hmm I havent quite mastered tights wearing enough to pull them on without physically grabbing clumbs of darkened are and dragging them up my legs! XD

The only drawback of wearing tights is that it prevents ventilation and may cause some fungal skin infection in the hip area (my case). Shaping stuffs are out of question to me. Because of this I prefer thigh-high tights. Tights are far more endurable than nylon stockings, and all of the tights I have purchased during the past 7 years have never been worn out. Mostly wash in cold water.

The following is a Hue tights I purchased at ca $10 about 7 years ago. It is still like a brand new one as I have never tried it outdoors  because of the color :'(

I sometimes wear black Hue tights for outdoor exercise, as it keeps my legs warm.

There are several size classes from A to D or from 1 to 5. I usually chose size 2 or size B. Hue brands usually show the size chart in the back of the envelope.

My ex used to suffer from this a lot...I was considering inventing tight tape to help her keep them in place. hehe

I guess its quality is questionable, or you may try a bigger size. Although my leggings and nylon stockings sometimes had a little hole, my tights have never had that kind of problem.
