I recall some people saying that, once post op, you really need to have HRT to avoid some really dangerous health effects.  Does anyone know what the danger is of going without HRT once post-op?

I have read something that it isn't good for the bones.  Osteoporosis.  And can have effects on the organs.

I think it's because your body won't be producing testosterone any more, and you need some type of hormone in your body.

Correct - you can get osteoporosis, faulty osmotic balance, problems of blood pressure, skin disorders, impaired immune response, degradation in function of most of the vital organs etc etc etc.

The human body requires at least some basic level of steriods in the blood to work properly.

Without it you could prematurely age your body to that of an 80+ year old. In extremis the result could be vastly reduced qulity of life and a significant reduction of life expectancy.

HRT after SRS or orchi at some level or other is going to be absolutely 100.0% essential for the rest of your life and almost all of those who try to do without end up bitterly regretting their serious error of judgement.

PLEASE DONT GO THERE!
