Hey, I just wanted to ask what the cost of T without insurance might be in California, because I can't find any information about it online.

Oh, and while I'm asking stuff, an endocrinologist who operates on "informed consent" will allow me to get hormone treatment without a diagnosis, right? I assume I just call people up and inquire around to find one...

Thanks for the help! :)

If you haven't already, check on Strohecker's Pharmacy.  They sell testosterone (with a prescription) for $52+$6 for shipping.  That includes a 10ml vial, needles and syringes, and alcohol wipes.  My vial lasted me 5 months.  So that's roughly 11 dollars a month.

You'd have to call a local pharmacy to see what their individual price is and everyone is a little different.

And, yes, from what I understand, informed consent means you don't have to have any type of documentation.  Just sign that you understand what T can do to your body, that you want the treatment, and that you aren't going to hold them responsible for any unwanted side effects.

The Stroheckers price is the same as the cost at Walgreens. At least this Walgreens.

Dependent upon where you live in Cali, you may be able to get free appointments through Planned Parenthood (they do free services for transfolk around northern Cali). As per T, I never got it lower than $90 in California, and that was at Costco. In Colorado, Costco charges $57 for the same size. Go figure.

I think you just broke the rules of not discussing how to get drugs without a script. You may want to delete that.

indeed. and in retrospect it makes perfect sense, because I wouldnt want some confused and desperate youth to go for it without the foresight on impulse and injure themselves.

phew.

I don't condone it but I have done it. I know it is do as I say but I quit that action and learned my lesson too.  I'm not knocking the desperation of someone to try it, I'm knocking a system that says they won't help when you need it but will cover some really absurd things.

You have no way of knowing if what you get is what it says it is. IT often is not.
The dosage is not as it states and poison fillers are sometimes used along with charging you more than it costs to get the good stuff legally.
