I have been injecting in my thighs every two weeks for 8 months now.  1.5 CCs (that is not a dosage-only a volume) alternating legs.  I have noticed that it seemes to occur more after a refill using cottonseed oil (again-a carrying agent, not a drug or dosage) rather than the peanut oil that the prior prescriptions came in.  I am injecting the same way.  Any suggestions or comments?

For me there are 2 possible issues:
1. An allergic reaction to the cottonseed oil

2. Are you using a filter needle to draw from the ampule to remove the glass dust, then a new needle to inject?
If you don't draw with a filter needle, you will be injecting glass dust right into your thigh.

I hope that helps some...

it's possible the region isn't sterile I had that once and got a soreness in the muscle for a few days.

Thanks for advice.  I am rigorous about cleanliness and the site isn't hot, nor red, or draining from injection.  I don't think infection.  inclined to believe it is the cottonseed oil.  Better make a Dr. appointment.

I used to do injections and hated them because I was ALWAYS sore after for days at a time it was ridiculous.  Since then I heard that if you massage the area after injection that it can help.  I can't really test this I don't wanna go back on them but let me know if you decide to try it

I have actually been to some of the He-man steroid blogs and some say to rub, others no.  They recommend warming the bottle in water to body temp before drawing.  I have done that.  I have called my Dr. (well, duh-that probably should have been first, but I don't like to be a pest) and hopefully he will prescribe the peanut oil.  If I thought that this was the way it is going to be, I would go back onto patches, but they leave that residue and red patch.  You never feel quite as smooth somehow.

lol OMG seen this complaint  'bout a thousand times now (+ 1?) ;D even the dumb-A Army knows The Buttocks is definitely the better way to IM! It's NOT that difficult once ya get the hang of it, been doing every 5 days for past 2 yrs now (are we really serious about this?) with nary a sore spot or blood leak ever!

Do Ya Need  :icon_poke: "Standing Procedure" too?  ;)

Sorry to got off the subject but....filter needle? Is that necessary with every type of container or injection? I was never told I needed one by a doc?

Quote from: Cindy Stephens on May 11, 2010, 09:35:38 AMI have checked out the procedures for doing it in the glutes, but some have problem turning that far around to get a good shot

For pete's sake the "spot" is not that critical -> while standing side to front of half-length mirror bend over slightly and reaching with opposite hand around front of body grab general area buttock skin and, while pulling tight, use mirror to stick in 2 1/2in point then, readjusting grip (lol, it'll hang in there!), hormonal away!

I tell myself the concentration in that particular area has greatly helped my *hip shape* as a bonus but probably just my imagination . . .

After a 'lil practice ya won't think twice about it and never go back to any other way!
