Skinny jeans...yay or nay?

I found a pair of skinny jeans yesterday. Men's. What I like about them is that they bring out the bulge. I tried them on. Since I have no girl hips, I thought hey why not wear these? So I did. Wore them to the bar. I walked in and past some girl and she started yelling Cameron...which is my roommate. I kept walking cause I was pretty sure she wasn't talking to me. Did what I was doing looking for things in the dressing room, started to walk out. On my way out this girl said sorry..she thought I was Cam. I just shook my head and went to walk out...then I heard her telling Cam, "I thought she was you..." I whipped around so fast and yelled, "I'm not a girl, thanks." Then I left.

It might've been the fact that I was wearing a not men's hoodie, but it didn't fit like a girl's hoodie. It fit like a small guy's. And I looked gay as a fruitcake right then. But she still called me a girl. Was it the skinny jeans?

What are your experiences with wearing skinny jeans and passing? I usually pass just fine...but lately I've been told that my face gives me away. I see the endo tomorrow though...finally.

Definite no on skinny jeans.
Even skinny guys have bigger arses, thighs and hips. You may think it's not noticeable, but it most likely is.
You may not have much fat on your hips, but you will have a wider pelvis and this really shows in skinny jeans.

hm. no. not at all. If I had a pic I'd post it, but I don't. What do you mean by wider pelvis? I'd think packer...flat chest...sideburns....=male.

Just wanted to drop in and point out that I think that guys in skinny jeans are mighty hot.
Of course, it does lend you a bit more of an androgynous look, which may make you less passable, but it probably depends on what people in your area are used to. I live near the San Francisco Mission District, which is hipsterland, so nobody notices a guy in skinny jeans.

I wear skinny jeans with an oversized t-shirt on most days now, which is a nice androgynous look that can be femmed or butched by what shoes you're wearing, what's on your shirt, and by what kind of jacket or hoodie, etc. you wear with it. It'll probably look good, but it probably won't help much with your passing. Then again, I don't worry much about passing nowadays - I like coming off as androgynous.

Hm. Idk. I don't know how many people analyze pelvic structure when they meet someone....and thinking of this just made me laugh uncontrollably xD

I'm gonna try this again tonight and tell y'all how it goes.

Haha, very true. Even so, I've never seen a transguy that has looked good in skinny jeans.
Compared to women, you may have smaller hips/ass/thighs, but compared to men, there's usually a noticeable difference.

Human beings are biologically programmed to subconsciously analyze this.  Ryan's right on this.  You can be slim as the day is long, but bone structure and fat distribution, especially pre-testosterone, makes skinny jeans a bad idea.  You said it yourself:  You were mistaken for a woman.  Consider the common denominators.

My butt, hips, and thighs are too big for skinny jeans.

Nay if you have a wide girly butt. Most of us seem to (myself included :()

I'm not into skinny jeans, but then I'm not an alternative kinda guy. I've never felt the urge to even try on a pair of skinny jeans.

I liked wearing skinny jeans pre-t. I thought regular boot-cut jeans made my butt look a lot bigger.  I had no problem passing while wearing them.  just make sure you pack

when i was really skinny (like SUPER skinny) i passed fine in skinny jeans. i was a 28 waist at 5'11'' and it looked fine - you should make sure the jeans are a little low and loose on your butt and your shirt or sweater is a) long enough to cover the top part of the jeans down to where the pockets start
b) not super-wide in comparison, but not clinging to you, since you're aiming at a slender sillouette.

generally speaking, it's probably not the best idea for most guys :-\

Yeah that's what I do and I pass fine, still as a 13 year old but yeah...

I can't do skinny jeans. I have a huge bottom half and an hour glass figure that just can't be hidden. Skinny jeans make me look like a big femme ice cream cone.

Even on some cisguys they can be way feminizing. My husband, for example has amazing legs/bum but in skinny jeans he looks weirdly girly. He does, however look AHMAZING in combat boots and a utilikilt.  >:-)

Gotta dress for your body type I'm afraid. If you get mistaken for a chick in the skinny jeans, it's time to find something else. Save them for at home if you really <3 them but don't like people's reactions. If you want something that fits a bit tighter than the usual baggy guys pants, go for a men's low rise boot cut. The slight flare below the knee makes one's legs look straighter and balances out things a bit. Just ya know, not too big a flare or it ends up making you look more curvy than you may actually be.

Were you wearing a belt at the time? If not, try again but with a belt. It's amazing how quickly someone can glance and think Oh Belt + Bulge= that simply must be a guy. VS No Belt+Bulge = That girl has funny underwear on that makes her look hung.

I have big hips but I have still passed with skinny jeans on. A lot of my guy friends wear them. It looks a little better if you wear them lower. ANd maybe wear 2 shirts and tuck the bottom one in really good to make you look straighter.

I like skinny jeans and had a bit of trouble working out if I could wear them and still pass. You might've seen my post on ftm where a million people analysed my pants. I think skinny jeans can work as long as they aren't uber-tight skinny jeans. Most people buy them a couple of sizes too small to get that really skinny effect, but I buy em a little big, so they're slim fitting but still look like skinny jeans.  And they're a lot more forgiving.

As long as you get mens jeans and keep em a little loose you should be fine.  And wear em low.

I say If your truly a stick figure, go ahead, wear the jeans. Most people can't see the difference. Especially with short hair.  But with even the slightest amount of fat, thats clearly not muscle, there is no way in hell your going to pass.

Interesting subject, as I am an m2f who wears skinny jeans frequently.

I clearly see my meager hip, and envy plumpy ones of girls. There are some skinny women who are as much skinny as me, but their hips are still rounder and bigger than me. And, many men here have big and round hips like a little bit plumy women, and I think, they look neutral to me when judging solely based on their hip and legs, and I do not think they are sexy whether they are women or men. If you have slim legs and contrastingly big hip, then it is 99% woman, which I wish to have. Slim legs + scanty hips basically looks anydrogynous, could look sexy to my eyes whether it intends men's or women's.

Most people do not study my hip, and I usually pass as a woman if I wear lipstick and other feminizing accents.

Here some young men wear skinny jeans, but girls and I wear SUPER skinny jeans. And, bulging is no so much important, as few people study it.

Some photos of my wearing SUPER skinny jeans can be seen at: https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/topic,77012.0.html

Dude I think if you feel comfortable and look good in skinnys...y not?

I wore skinnys pre-T and I had thick thighs, hips, and booty  :-\ I still managed to pass in them.
Like someone said previously...wear men's skinnys that are not super skinnys and wear them a little below the hips. I wear levis 511.
