Chester's Tanya Bloomfield decided she wanted to run a marathon when she turned 40. Then she decided she wanted to do it in bare feet.

Bloomfield won't run the Scotiabank Blue Nose Marathon on May 23 as she imagined, but she'll tackle The Chronicle Herald 10-K with bare skin on cold, hard and possibly wet pavement and is determined to finish.

Bloomfield, a transgendered female, is driven on several fronts.
