Hello everyone!

My name is Paul and I am a 30 year old Transman.  I am at the start of my transition and I had a few questions I hope someone can answer.  I recently started seeing a doctor for hormones.  Dr. Fred Ettner in Evanston, IL.  He agreed to start me on hormones and thought I was in excellent shape to begin them.

He sent out blood work to the labs and told me I could start the injections once all the numbers were back.  In the meantime he gave me a sample of testosterone gel in a 5 g tube tube named Testim.  He told me to rub a little bit on my arm everyday just to get me started.  I did but unfortunately I won't be able to go back and see him for another 2 weeks.  I called and told him that and he sent me 6 more 5 g tubes of Testim.

Honestly I'm still working on the first tube but the results are obviously very slow.  I want to use more since I have it but I don't know how much is to much?  I want to cut down on the unwanted side effects such as acne and hair loss as much as possible obviously.  What is the average dose people start out with?  What do I do with all these tubes?  Should I use one every other day?  Is that to much?  One a week?

Thanks for any thoughts and advice you might have.  Sorry if this is posted in the wrong section.  I'm new to this site.

Hey Paul, first off; welcome to Susan's. Second; you might want to take a look at the general TOS... Especially the ehhh 'no dosages in posts' part... ;)
That said I can't answer your question. Probably best to discuss it with your doc.

Ah, that might be a good thing to read.  I'll delete this.  Thanks for letting me know

No problem man. No reason to watch the 'new kid' get smacked over the head. ;)
You could just remove the dosages from your post and reword some things, should work.

Typical of me to jump on in without looking to see where I am going.  ::) I modified the post and put in a call to the doctor.  I like him fine but his receptionist not so much.  Hopefully he'll still get the message.

Awesomesauce.

Welcome to the forums. I know it may seem "obvious" but yet we all fail to do this now and then; reading the rules is usually best done before the first post. ;)
