Christian preacher arrested for saying gays were sinful has charges dropped
A Christian preacher arrested for saying homosexuality was sinful has had the charge against him dropped.

Dale McAlpine, 42, was charged with a public order offence after telling a gay Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) that he believed homosexual activity was against the word of God.

But the Crown Prosecution Service has confirmed he will now not face charges.

Mr McAlpine welcomed the "common sense" decision.

Here in California, its called a Health And Welfare Code 5150 detention because you are a danger to yourself or others.  Its not a crime!  They actually have reason to believe you are a mental case!!

However he would not qualify.  I got a guy down the street from me who is out everyday with his 'Babylon the Fallen' sign, we figure he's about as crazy as Frank Chu and his 12 galaxies stuff.  But basically harmless, and they add to the local color.

Charges against a U.K. street preacher accused of anti-gay hate speech were dropped following the offer by a prominent British GLBT equality activist to testify on his behalf.

Standing on the principle that, "Freedom of speech must be defended, even for homophobes," U.K. equality activist Peter Tatchell offered his tesitmony in defense of street preacher Dale Mcalpine.
