Hi all, I have a few job interviews booked next week and I have always said that when I get my first job out of school I will go full time.

But...now I'm scared....I don't really want to go to these interviews as a guy, b/c I want them to know me as a girl. I also don't want to have to come out at work. On the other hand, I don't feel that I pass totally yet and I don't have very many business clothes for women (working on that when money is available). I have changed my name and school records, but that's about it.

I do want these jobs, so what should I do?

Did you give them a resume/application?  Did you put your boy name on it?  Who will they expect to see you as?

I felt the same way but I went as male. I didn't list anything for gender or race because it was optional and I don't think that should matter anyway. I just went as male because I didn't have any professional looking female clothes yet and I wanted to feel more confident in my interview. Don't sweat it either way, just roll with it :) I'm sure you'll do fine!  ;)

So lightvi, did you have to come out at work since? Do you regret going as male from the get-go?

I just sent my resume as with a gender neutral name, but when they phoned me for an interview, my voice rarely passes on the phone so I pretty much have to go in boy mode? Unless I want to be the office carnie...

I had my first interview since going full time today, i rang yesterday and introduced myself and explained my situation and i got the interview and he was very understanding about it (he even asked "im sorry, what is your name" which may have been a courtesy but i like to think i was passing well XD). Sadly the job wasnt right for me but at least ill be less scared next time :P

Not yet, I probably won't until I start HRT and things start becoming noticeable.
