So today and in the sport section of the local paper. They had a artcil on a australian sport witch is AFL (Australian Football League) In this artical they were talking about how one of the players told all others plays that if they were gay they needed it to keep it to them selfs and NOT come out of the closest because it might make other players feel umcomfortable, like in the showers ect.

So when I herd about this it made me quite mad and mum and I got talking about this subject about being gay (I also brang up being transgendered)(sorry if that is not the right term)
She started telling me that everyone should be happy, life is way to short and then she said you need to live it how you want..... If you spend your whole life being unhappy, then that is not good life she told me.
This sounds like, she would rather me have a happy life then live it how sombody else wish's me to live it!
Im so happy I found out that she is in 100% exceptance of all of these subjects!

Then right before we got home, she randomly brang up the subject again and said life needs to be lived as you wish, you need to be happy...
Does this sound like she knows or does it atleast sound like she would not care who I was aslong as I was happy?

Hope this all makes sence, wrote this out very quickly....

I'm so happy for you. :)  Your mum sounds open minded. I read the article too, this is part of it and the link.

QuoteRetired Olympic swimmer Daniel Kowalski has slammed comments by AFL player Jason Akermanis encouraging gay players to stay in the closet.

Western Bulldogs star Akermanis wrote in his weekly Herald Sun column today that coming out was unnecessary "for a lot of reasons".

He said an openly gay player could make his teammates uncomfortable and coming out could "break the fabric of a club".

Sounds as if it is time for a long chat with Mum. I think she may suspect something

I was heartened by the coach of the WB Paul Roos saying that the comment belonged in 1943 and his team members would respect anyone irrelevant of race, creed or sexuality. Then again is Akermanis closet Gay? Possibly he shouts too much?

I would say there is a good chance she suspects.

It was a bit different for me because it all started happening so early. Even so many years later, just about on her deathbed, my mother confessed to me that even when I was a very tiny baby she thought there was something different about me. Just watching my early play paterns with other toddlers and the toys I chose in pre-school. Mothers can sometimes be very perceptive.

At the end of the day it seems to me like you now have nothing to lose and everything to gain form having a nice honest chat with her sometime soon, even if only along the lines of - look I'm not 100% on this but I think I might be transgender and I need to explore that a bit...

Sorry, I have to admit to being an Aussie who hates AFL and all Rugby codes. But I watch the Thunderbirds Go GO GO

Judging by his white hair and black goatee, there might be something he's not telling us. :-\

Oh no, AFL! I can't stand sport, although I do find something really appealing about the idea of a group of muscular guys in tight shorts groping one another and jumping around (is AFL the one where they wear tight shorts and punch the ball??? Sorry I really don't know anything about it at all except that some of the players look really nice lol.).

I would think that you'd have to have a certain amount of gayness to wear tight shorts like that, and to hug a bunch of other men ostensibly in order to gain control of a ball!

justme19,
Sounds like she would be very open to it, but remember, just about all mothers will feel like they are losing their son. I know my mums first reaction to me telling her that I am actually a girl was instant denial. So just remember that you could get hurt, but the pain is only temporary. I have a relatively good relationship with my mother now ^_^

Now is that why I don't like basket ball. But if they wore tight shorts and cute tops it could be a regular watch. I do see that the USA has "lingerie football league" it didn't interest me but I think the guys were enjoying it
