Just within the hour a younger man walked into my apt. and started to grab at me

I had just gotten out of the shower, put some panties and a lite dress on, was talking online with a friend, went to go tinkle and on the way back it all went down

He was grabbing everywhere and trying to force me to the ground to no avail

Luckily, after wrestling a bit I was able to make him leave. I was even able to type a bit to my friend in between his attempts

Of coarse my dog went and hid (again) but came out after the guy when I gained the upper hand

It was all such a bother and interrupted my conversation... Plus some of my stuff is a bit of a mess and I'm bruised up a bit and in a bit of mood in general

Anyone else been attacked or bothered and didn't report it?

If it's only just happened, you have time to report it. Why let this guy off? He'll only do it to someone else, or might even come back to your place with a weapon and you won't be here to tell the tale.
Please report it, there will be enough physical evidence for the police to act upon.

Someone did call the police, they are here now

Oh no! That's kind of a terrifying thing to have happen! I do hope you're alright. <3

And here's to hoping they catch that guy and he doesn't have the chance to cause troubles anymore. D8

Thank goodness you are ok.

I'm glad you reported it. sometimes police do nothing, but at least the statistic is now there to nag them in future!

One of the things I regret most about my young pre and postop life is not having reported either of the times when I was raped, because there is a good chance that because of my misplaced heroism some other woman had the same experience...

What I can't believe is how stiff and sore I am this morning... I feel like I'd gone to a gym and overdid everything

It did feel rather awkward standing there in a dress and make up and handing my (Male) ID to the police

They seemed a bit taken aback momentarily, but then continued doing their police stuff

I also learned that a few gals in the neighboring student dorms had been attacked and the cops have been looking for this guy for quite awhile now

I'm soo glad you are OK Virginia... :icon_bunch:

It sounds like you are coping very well.... but please be careful, and line up a local friendly shoulder to lean on if you can... just in case you get a little post trauma shock, setting in over the next few days.. ;)

That's awful. I'm so glad you and the iguana are physically OK, and that you've reported it. There might be some delayed-onset shock after the adrenaline wears of, so be sure to have a friend handy in case you need one.

Usually I do not lock my APT even at night. It is fairly safe here, and I felt the same way in Japan. But, the U.S. is different, espeically in suburban areas.

I got my first and unique 'virtual rape' in a suburban area of the U.S., even though there were a few people strolling in the nearby parking lot. Nobody cared me, and I was so much terrified. I still think I was lucky. I did not report it to police, and I regret it so much that I heard a radio news that a girl was raped there in about a week. I guessed it was him, the same guy.

Just do it.

I was attacked two years ago by a guy. I didn't report it to the police because my friend was attacked the year before and the police did NOTHING. They actually said that she brought it on her self for being trans.

Well, the apt. mgr. put out a notice:

Dear tenants,
The entrance doors are locked at night for a reason
If you use an entrance door at night please make sure it is locked and firmly closed behind you
Making the *name* apt.s a safe, secure and happy place to live is everyone's responsibility

Also the police had a dog out in the yard area so I eves dropped a bit
They believe that the "Perp"-? has been cutting through the yard area on his way to go attack the gals at the dorms

So although I didn't want to report it, I'm kinda glad someone called... Maybe it will help to keep the college girls from being attacked and they'll catch this creep

I am very glad you are all right, Virginia.  That was scary.

Yes, the police need to know.  You need to tell them because the next girl may not be as lucky as you.

And LOCK YOUR DOORS.

Actually, this is a good thing.  They took you as a woman (which you are) and were surprised you had a male ID.  This is good.  (The perp also took you to be a woman.  Hmm, I'm sensing a pattern here. ;))
