Reading Kerry Eleveld's report on the deal-making going on in the WH and on the Hill at this late date regarding DADT repeal, you really need to read between the lines.

The Advocate has learned that concurrent meetings took place Monday morning at the White House and on Capitol Hill that could help clear the way for "don't ask, don't tell" repeal to be attached to the Department of Defense authorization bill later this week.

Now this is the good news -- this is the best mechanism to get the discriminatory policy repealed in 2010, but as with everything, it comes at a price in this deal.
