Anyone have one of those songs that just rips your heart out and can bring you to tears every time you hear it?

I got such a song...

Last year around this time I went to a regular bar/saloon fully dressed as myself (girl). People their were descent and I was having an awesome time dancing and having fun!

I was using the ladies bathroom and the owner came up to me and said I needed to use the men's room and stay out of the ladies room. He wasn't mean about it, but it still sort of gutted me.

So I'm sitting at the bar having a beer and this song comes on that I hadn't heard for years. I wish I never heard this song because it's haunted me ever since I left my wife last year. Yeah, the song reminds me of her...

The song starts to play on the juke box and I had to flee the bar!!! It was powerful enough to instantly gut me! I was sitting there hearing this song feeling guilty over being a girl and being at a bar when I should be with my wife!

II cry even as I right this because I miss her. I wish I would have never heard this song.

When in a certain mood this song has been known to make me a little misty-eyed. It's one of those songs that just sort of transports me to another time and place whenever I listen to it.

And this song has always pulled on my heartstrings a bit since it came out.

sorry for that , but you shouldn't feel guilty for being yourself , or for decisions you have made . who knows what would have happened otherwise .
hope you feel better soon

OMGosh! Dante's Prayer by Loreena McKennitt is my most emotional song too.  I have such strong feelings and attachments to the song.  Everyone should do themselves a favor:

1) Quiet everything around you in the house, stop the TV, the kids, the phone, everything.
2) Open the windows to let a breeze in to hear the natural sounds of the world around them.
3) Sit in quiet peace for a moment clearing your mind.
4) Listen to Dante's Prayer and really focus in on the words.
5) Feel yourself lifted away into the sublime in a way that can only be related to a spiritual experience.
Ill no longer be defined by my condition. From now on, I'm just, Kate.

Not a song but an album.   'All about Chemistry' by Semisonic.   The title appears at first glance to be a cheery pop number but as the album goes on the despair increases.   Definitely an album about breaking up, which happened to me just after I bought it.  I cannot listen to the album without collapsing into a blubbering heap.

I was with this wonderful guy (prior to accepting my manhood). Actually I still love him. I had to break it off because I had to move 3 states away. Everytime I hear this song it makes me think of him. then I miss him terribly and have to wonder where I'd be if I'd stayed...

oh yeah that's one on my list too; I know exactly what you mean. Put it together with this one and it's definitely mist-time.. but no way there's just one song...

And this one by Bruce Springsteen which is partly about a suicide bomber and partly about the tragedy of 9/11 is not only sad it's haunting, and I never hear it without breaking into tears...

I also love Hallelujah, and the version by Allison Crowe is the best and heart rending rendition I have ever heard.

Tears From the Moon ~ Conjure One featuring Sinead O'Connor

Couldn't sleep so I went out walking
Thinking about you and hearing us talking
And all the things I should have said
Echo now, inside my head

I feel something falling from the sky
I'm so sad I made the angels cry

Tears from the moon
Fall down like rain
I reach for you
I reach in vain

Tears from the moon, tears from the moon

It just ain't fair this thing called loving
When one's still there and the other feels nothing
I would have done anything for you
I still love you, baby I adore you

All day I keep from falling apart
But at night when the sky gets dark

Tears from the moon
Fall down like rain
I reach for you
I reach in vain

Stop, Stop haunting me
It should be easy
As easy as when you stopped wanting me

Tears from the moon
Fall down like rain
I reach for you
I reach in vain

Tears from the moon
Fall down like rain
but tears from the moon
can't wash away the pain

Tears from the moon, tears from the moon
Tears from the moon, tears from the moon

This is just one of many songs that can easily make me shed a tear or two. This one especially because it is such a strong reminder of someone I will always love.

reflection - christina aguelera, I feel like this song is about me, always makes me cry.
Ignorance - kasey chambers, just always makes me sad
I did it my way - Frank Sinatra, was played at my grandfathers funeral, I didn't cry at all until I heard this song, then I couldn't stop - still cry now whenever I hear it
Samson- regina spector, she just has a beautiful but haunting voice, also some songs by George for the same reason.
Winter by Vivaldi
