Binder problem

Hi guys. Been a while since I've posted here. But I need help again.

After getting a T-Kingdom binder last year and ended up with it being too big, I tried an Underworks one this time. Tri top. I measured myself at 33, which is the biggest size they recommended for a small binder. It arrived yesterday.

Stepping into it, I could wriggle it up and get it on. It definitely didn't fit over my shoulders. But then there were a few problems. First, no matter how much I tried to rearrange them, it either looked like I had squished together boobs, or mad pecs. And the rest of me is relatively skinny. So having pecs looks really awkward. On the bright side, from the front I look flat.

Another thing is that the top (collar part) of the binder kinda sticks out a little bit. It doesn't lay flat against my skin, so especially from the side, it looks weird under my shirt. And I wasn't even wearing a tight shirt.

Last thing is that it frickin hurts! I only wore it for about half an hour or so when I tried it on. That was yesterday late afternoon. And even now, the next morning, I can still feel it in my ribs. When I had it on, I got the same rib-crushing feeling like when I was binding with Ace bandages. I thought that binders were not suppose to be that bad, so that's why they were better than bandages, but it feels the same to me. I know it'll probably stretch out the more I wear it. But I'm afraid of messing up my ribs. I can't afford to go see a doctor if anything happens. And I was hoping I could start binding at least when I'm going out...

So any advice for any of these problems would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

ok as far as getting it on, step into it upside down and pull it up over itself by the "sleeves" It works better than stretching it straight up. Also I recommend wearing a tanktop or tshirt underneath.

And as far as it bunching at the top, pull it up higher if you can. I have the double front not the tri-top but that works for me. Also wearing an undershirt over your binder under your regular t-shirt helps eliminate any bumps or creases you might have.

When I first measured myself for underworks I was a 34.5, then a few months later I had measured again and was a 33.5, but a small fits me fine. I actually feel like a need a smaller size.

What do you mean it didn't fit over your shoulders?
Did you try to see how it looks with a regular t-shirt you'd wear?
I don't think pecs would look so bad, maybe because you're not use to it?

I have that problem too.
Around the front of the neckline it tends to pop out &it rly bugs me, but I haven't figured out a way to fix it.

I also wear an undershirt underneath the binder thanks to Carson's great tips.

Hmm, yeah maybe you just have to give it some time to stretch out and get your body used to.
I haven't had any real bad problems with mine hurting me or bugging me to the point where it was physically unhealthy.

Maybe try a bigger size?

Trying to get a tri-top on is similar to trying to get a chinese finger trap off. With my binder there will always be that wrinkle because it's not cut for the shape we have. From my experiences with the tri-top...going bigger when you're in between sizes is a little better idea for comfort. Try pushing your...lumps(?) in different directions and see what looks best. I go down and out (under the armpit) which I couldn't do with my T-kingdom binder.

Do not, under any circumstances, try to put that thing on like a shirt. You have to step into it, at least until it stretches out a bit which should happen within a month. If you don't wash it it'll stretch out faster. That might sound bad, but it doesn't really soak up smells too bad. Putting it in the freezer helps me keep mine small...but you don't have to worry about that yet. It will take awhile to get used to the tightness, but its worth it imo to have  a flat chest. As you wear it more often, your tissue will break down and it'll look better bound. Personally the up and out method works best for me. Or the down and to the side method. Having some pecs is ok. I'm skinny too, and look like I have pecs...which I do, under the tumors.

Its so weird cause I can put it on very easily like any other shirt, even since I first got it...

I have a tri top and I tried to put it on like a shirt before. That didn't work at all haha. I just pull it up from my feet now and wrestle my arms inside. I think I was a 32 or 33 maybe measurement, and I have a small and it fits great. The collar does stick out some, but like Carson said, pull the straps more towards your shoulders and it'll go away. I also wear a plain white undershirt under all my clothes but over my binder, and it takes the weird collar bulge away for the most part.

And if all that doesn't work, switch to the Double-front compression shirt.  ;D  Seriously, it seems that those who find the Tri-top comfortable hate the Double-front, and those of us who love the Double-front hate the Tri-top.  I think it depends upon your particular shape, and how sensitive your ribs are.  I, too, had trouble with the Tri-top sticking out at the front, and it absolutely killed my ribs.  The Double-front is cut lower in the neck-line, and under the arms (which makes it cut in less, but risks having the flesh-bags creep out the armpits) and when it rolls up, it rolls around the waist or hips, instead of around the ribs.  Personally, I can keep it from rolling by tucking it into my underwear and wearing a belt, but everyone is different.

I have also heard of people preventing the rib-roll on the Tri-top by wearing a belt around their rib cage, or by sewing a length of fabric around the bottom and tucking it into their pants.

the back of my binders do that popping, puckering thing.. and its simple to fix

you just need to cut a long.. but narrow V into the binder, and then sew it back up

I need to fix my binder.. and i could make an instructional video, I could show it to you when its uploaded, if you want

My back does that too somtimes, but mostly the front like when im sitting.
But thanks that'd be nice, id just have ti find a way to veiw it.
