I despise the Jerry Springer show, and have never watched more than a few minutes of it, because it's all about ridiculing people and their lives.
I think most of the stories are fabricated too, you can tell they're memorizing lines and role playing.
One episode had a trans women expose her true identity to her boyfriend and the whole crowd went ballistic and were yelling out, "You're a man!" over and over. It made me sick to my stomach.
Jerry just smiled and even encouraged the heckling. He's made money from making fun of others, even if they're stories aren't true, someone at home may actually be living it for real, and how does it make them feel?
Despicable man, despicable show.
