Never thought I would be asking this.

Okay so usually I would never do this. I'm used to taking care of myself in pretty much all departments including clothing, but currently I don't have two pennies to rub together and though I am suppose to have some money coming in in the next month or so. (I hope.) I need to start getting summer clothes together. Originally I was going to use my birthday money to buy the basics at a thrift store nearby, but one of my friends was in a bit of a crunch and though it was the only money I had I gave it to him expecting to be paid back soonish, due to the fact he just quit his job and is starting trucking school sometime this month the chance of me getting it back anytime soon is pretty slim. I'm not too upset about that though because it wasn't something he had been expecting and I know I'll get the money back eventually I'm just broke until then.

So I live in Texas and it's very much starting to feel like summer. Which those who have been to Texas I'm sure understand. I don't have any men's clothing for hot weather and all my other clothes not only are girl's but don't fit me anymore since I've lost around thirty pounds. I've been wearing long sleeves and borrowing my friends clothes. So I was wondering if anyone here had any old clothes in the smallish to medium range that they don't wear anymore or if perhaps any of you guys knew where I could get some clothes. When I say I'm broke though I literally mean at least for the time being I've got no money whatsoever and my family being the supportive beings they are refuse to pay for clothes for me because I no longer let them pick my wardrobe. Even if I could just get two shirts and maybe some shorts to wear until I can afford to get to the thrift store I would be more then happy.

I feel really weird asking and if worst comes to worst I can just wait for the next month or two when I do have some sort of money, but I figured this was worth a shot and even if no one's able to send anything you could at least point me in the direction of somewhere I could get clothes either now or in the future. I hope this isn't against any sorts of rules here if it is you can delete it, but to my knowledge at least it isn't.

I have two black but lightweight short sleeve men's shirts that were cut really small so they don't work for me. PM me if you'd like them (the rest of the clothing going into my 'to charity shop' pile are women's clothing, so not too useful for you unfortunately).

That would be great and seriously appreciated. I don't generally like asking people for stuff like clothes, but when I was mowing the lawn in what felt like a hundred degree weather in a flannel shirt I sort of realized it was probably time to find some way of getting summer clothes. @.@; I'll be thankful for anything.  :)

I don't have money or many summer clothes myself, but id be willing to help &do anything I can. Im sure I can get together a few shirts &shorts. :)

Also, you could try a local church.
Friends, friends of friends, family, ask them for old clothes.

Pm me ur sizes, &ill see what I can do.

alex408- In shirts I wear mainly small though I can fit into medium as well as far as pants go 30w 28l is what I usually wear. :P Anything you can spare is awesome.

ccc- I hadn't thought of local churches there are quite a few around here too. Most of my friends with the exception of one are a great deal either bigger or smaller then me. Which is really the only reason they haven't given me any of their old stuff and the one that is around my size is the one that's been letting me borrow his clothes on occasion.

I'm in a similar situation as far as cash flow being a bit low.  I've altered some clothes...made cut-offs from some pants, and cut the sleeves off a couple of shirts.

I'm in the same boat. But my local shelter runs a clothing closet free to the public every week, so I pick up clothes every week. When some get too dirty, since I don't have a way to wash clothes other than a bathtub...I have to throw them out. But the mission has nearly new clothes from hollister, a&e, etc. That place is a lifesaver. Maybe your area has similar programs? I'd suggest to call your local homeless shelters. No, you're not homeless. But the shelters know of all the local resources and would be happy to point you in the right direction.

I have plenty of clothes that I got from the clothing closet that don't fit me cause there's nowhere to try them on there. I just don't have money to ship. If I could figure out a way to ship, I would man. I wear your size jeans too and I have tons of them.

zombiesarepeaceful- Hey it's cool I appreciate the thought and the tip. I hadn't thought of doing that either. I'm sure there's bound to be a place like that around here somewhere. Or at least a place near here.

jmaxley- The cut offs thing is a pretty awesome idea actually especially since I have a great deal of pants that are too long thus torn at the bottom anyway.

just a thought.

A lot of churches start having "bag sales", in which it's a huge yard sale, and you buy clothes in bags [usually paperbags, no you cannot bring a black trashbag and expect to get it by the old ladies] for $2-5.
