'Ticked Off ->-bleeped-<-s' attracted a few protests at Q Cinema, but the film is surprisingly subtle.

Who would have guessed that, after all the noise and arguing and Facebook flame-warring, a movie called Ticked-Off ->-bleeped-<-s with Knives would turn out to be a relatively subtle and thoughtful affair?

Dallas director Israel Luna's neo-exploitation thriller had its local premiere Saturday night at the Rose Marine Theater, as part of the 12th annual Q Cinema: Fort Worth's Gay and Lesbian Film Festival. As was the case when the movie debuted at the Tribeca Film Festival in April, members of the transgender community raised alarms: The title, they claim, is derogatory; and the film exults in and encourages gruesome violence against transgender people.
