so yesturday was so awesome! I met a girl named Micheala, she is intersex. I was at the park with my mom and two cousins, and i was talking about my name change and she cut out and said, " I got my name changed!" And she explained to us who she was and her story basically. It was amazing, i've never met a intersex person before, or even a mtf or ftm outside the internet. She mentioned that Testosterone makes you angry, she said it was "Roid rage". Does testosterone really make you angry or is that a myth?

It's a myth

QuoteMyth #1: Taking testosterone ("T") for transition will make trans men uncontrollably angry and volatile, or cause "'roid rage."

This is one of the most common myths about FTM transsexuals who take testosterone, but there is no compelling evidence to support such a sweeping generalization. Indeed, while some trans men anecdotally report feeling shorter tempered or irritable for a period after starting T, many others report that they feel calmer and more even-tempered since taking T. Yet time and again, trans men and their loved ones voice fear that taking testosterone will somehow automatically change an FTM transsexual into a terrible, angry, or violent person.

This myth probably gets some its fuel from stories about "steroid" use causing anger or volatility (often called "'roid rage") in bodybuilders and other athletes who take performance enhancing drugs. In order to understand the differences between athletic "steroid" use and testosterone therapy as taken by trans men, it pays to explore exactly what "steroids" mean in each context.

T can affect alot of things, including your mood. In bio males who take it illegally to bulk up or whatnot, IMO, have a higher rate of roid rage as opposed to us who are taking it for hormone replacement. Yeah, it might make you react differently to situations. But in alot of guys, including myself and a good friend of mine, it made us calmer. It all depends on your body. It's a big myth also..I don't think nearly as many of us get 'roid rage' as it's made out to be. That's the first thing I heard from my friends when I said I was starting T..."will you be all angry?". Turns out, I'm calmer. Unless I'm nearing my next shot, then I get irritable and such cause my T levels are down.

I have noticed that in FTM dudes (and some androgyuns) is that T seems to bring a sense of calm and peace.
I am MTF, (duh) and I was on suplemental T when I was still wearing the man mask. The doctor was unable to get my T above 250 ng/dl and at that level of T (very low actually) I was a classic case of 'roid rage.

Add T too a female mind= bad idea.
Add T to a male mind= awesome plan.
So it is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you can win a hundred battles without a single loss.
If you only know yourself, but not your opponent, you may win or may lose.
If you know neither yourself nor your enemy, you will always endanger yourself.

Yeah, roid rage is a myth for transguys.
It tends to happen when your T levels are much, much higher than the regular male range. Roid rage is a term for men who use testosterone for bodybuilding, as obviously they already have normal T levels and adding more T will make them crazy.
