OK, here goes. Do any of you have problems with chest hair?  I have been on hormones now for 8 months and have not noticed any lightening of the chest hair.  I am wondering if I am going to have to get laser hair removal on my chest.  Has anyone else suffered the blight of the chest hair.
Smile, everyone will wonder what you are up to.

Mine has begun to thin and fade.  But for now I just shave.  Maybe not daily, but maybe every other day.

Weird I never had any until after I started E then between my breast and around my nipples. Nothing drastic just a little blond and one or two dark brown hairs.

Unfortunately I inherited my father's hairy chest.  I've been on HRT for a year now and it wasn't until the last month that I started to notice that the hairs are coming in lighter and fewer.  I still have to shave but at least it's a little less thick. I wish you luck in any reduction that you may receive.  :)

I find epilating helps. I didn't have a really hairy chest to begin, although there was some hair. But my nipples,oh god. Let's just say that when I went swimming, those nipple hairs would swim right alongside me like little hairy jellyfish!

I epilate my whole body, and it takes about a month for me notice any hair on my chest or nipples now.

I shave about every 2 to 4 days depending on my mood and the state of growth the hair is in, meaning growing or stagnet.  I just started an anti-androgen and will be starting E this summer, so time will tell if it makes a difference or if I'll have to continue shaving.

Early on with the estrogen, I had decided to just get laser on my chest. Actually didn't cost that much and only had to do it twice. I think the heavy hair was wiped in those sessions and then the estrogen kept it all down. Now I occasionally use an epilator to keep anything light that might come out but Its considerably less then when I started. Thankfully, because I hated it almost as much as my facial hair at that time....

I hate mine. Hate it. and my dad for not giving me his non hairy chest gene. I'm seriously considering laser as an option.

Hm I must have been lucky...

Mine started fading maybe three months in, by 8 months it was all virtually gone.  My belly hair is gone, my arm hair is very sparse and fine, and even my leg hair thinned out a ton and is much finer now.  If I didn't shave my legs, you wouldn't see hair on them until you got very close.

I wasn't terribly hairy to start with, so I probably had much less to lose than most.

I had it really bad I was like extremely hairy but I shaved like ever since they came in 3 months ago I switched to waxing/epilating them.

It was so horrible ;_; (Process of growing them to 5mm) it made me sick I've never even saw them before but they've been ripped out now They are still there but they are getting thinner each time they come back and I rip them out again.

Lots of my other body hair is thinning/falling out. When you pull out a hair that's been effected by the HRT it's obvious... the root is like blonde and it's all small and withered hair's that look like that don't come back.

I got tired of waiting for the E to do its work and had mine lasered.  I love the results.

This was one of the things that finally made me get on HRT. I never had much, but I noticed some starting to grow in. Totally unacceptable. There was already some around the nipples, which is REALLY annoying (even if it never shows), and which I fastidiously pluck. There are a few on my chest as well as a few around my belly button and below, which I also pluck or shave. The ones aroung the nipples and a few near the belly button can be really thick and wiry. It hasn't been much of an issue, since I don't have much anywhere that anyone would ordinarily notice. Nevertheless, I have been eagerly anticipating their disappearance. No such luck so far, at least, none that I can be sure isn't just wishful thinking.

At least it's not getting worse.

I noticed mine fade within a couple of months, and overall thinning on my arms and even my legs. I had really only developed noticeable widespread chest hair a few years before I began HRT, so I wonder if the fact the the hair had not been growing thickly for a long time made it easier for HRT to stop it's growth. My body hair seemed to take a last in first out approach, and that which has been around the longest remained. Even noticed a similar affect on my face, usually only minimally affected by HRT, my cheek hair which had really only began to grown more in the couple of years before transition seemed to stop almost completely after HRT.

I had quite a hairy chest, but after 3 months on hormones it has decreased a lot. Perviously I would need to shave daily and have shadow. but now I probably only do it once a week. Epilating has helped a lot though. The regrowth is very sparse, though previously without hormones it was nowhere near as effective.

I had very little chest hair to start with.  After starting hrt I got a little odd bit around the nipples but the rest kinda thinned out and went blonde or even disappeared all together.  So I shave maybe once a week on the chest.  However... a little lower and there is a small issue. >:(

Yeah, I have a bit of a hairy belly still and a hary butt  :embarrassed:

But it seems to be thinning. Early days yet for me.

after 15 months I finally don't have to worry about belly or chest hair. I shave my legs about every third or fifth day, my underarms take at least a month to show any growth, and my arm hair has gotten very light and sparse so it's not a problem. I was moderately hairy to start with, but I never had back or butt hair lol The thing is the hair didn't just go away overnight, it was a slow process and took up to 9 months before I didn't have to shave my chest at least occasionally anymore.

That's more or less the same experience I had, except for me it was even faster still, beginning to fade by a couple months, virtually gone by a couple months after.

Good genetics or young age (21) I guess.
