Turtle

Hi - I'd like to introduce myself! I'm really bad at technology/forums etc., so if this gets posted in the wrong place, please forgive the newbie. Oh, and if anyone can tell me how to access my own profile, that would be great (there's an error message) - that way I can sort myself out  ::)

I'm transgendered (FTM) and have finally decided to get something done about it - I'm seeing my GP on Wednesday to get a referral to the local Gender Identity Clinic. That should be fun - whilst I am very clear about my situation inside my own head, it's really hard to justify myself to others. Hence being Turtle...sometimes it's easier just to pop my head back inside the shell!

More about me? I am vegan, love the gym, I have a fabulous partner, who is very tolerant and doesn't mind living with someone who spends all their life trying to flatten their chest, and I spend way too much time listening to The Cliks.

Hi Turtle, welcome to Susans  :)

I'm also from the UK.

I think you need 15 posts to access your profile, not sure though.

Ahaaa! That would explain it!

I'm glad there's a few folk from the UK here, as I really value any advice on how to transition in this country. The NHS process just seems so long and scary. I could use any tips on what to say to all the medical people.

Nathan.

Yeah the NHS process it much longer then going private but i'm glad I stuck with it because now that i've had my first appointment things seem to be going at a good pace.

Your GP will probably refer you to a psychiatrist or something like that and then they will refer you to your local GIC.

Hi Turtle, :icon_wave:

Welcome to our little family. Over 4800 strong. That would be one heck of a family reunion.

Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams.  Ask questions and seek answers. Give and receive advice.

But remember we are family here, your family now. And it is always nice to have another brother. :icon_hug:

And be sure to check out these links ( MUST READS )

Hugs and Love,
