As I grow more comfortable with myself, I've been adding to my tattoos. Once I've worked out how to actually upload a photo onto here, I will! Anyone else got interesting tatts? Any that have meaning to your transition/new life?

<<<<<-------Best I could do. My shoulder is a work-in-progress. The front lizard will end up brightly coloured, and I'm extending over onto the back more. Eventually hope to move down to the elbow with an abstract phoenix. Need to save up for that! I hope eventually to cover my back, but that'll take years as each piece must have a meaning for me. My tattooist is an amazing artist, great philosopher, uses vegan inks (vital for me) and happens to be a transguy, so we have some good talks  ;D

once my chest is less gross and more flat.. i kinda want either a chest piece or some sort, or maybe a tattoo of ripped up skin revealing a bloody ribcage haha

I already have 6. "RIP G'ma" a pic of her, nothing gold can stay with the virgo symbol, s*** happens, a rainbow smiley face, and agony in russian. I want the trans pride flag on my ankle by my smiley, a tortured angel pic, the rip g'ma one redone, a real pic of her, "once you knwo you can never go back" on my arm..and others...

That's a kickass tat..I have five myself but I intend to get much more...I have one on my left wrist, a tribal then there's a branch with leaves and a flower coming down from that that goes over my hand. Though, that one I've been thinking of covering or something since it's kinda femmie...then I have a cross in between my thumb and index finger on my right hand..another tribal running up my right forarm and another on the left side of my neck. I would LOVE to have my last name in a cool Gaelic text on my back that says my last name MacLeod. But I'm going to wait till I am on T for a bit before I get that one.

I've always wanted tattoos but I don't want to get any without being absolutely sure that I want them on my body forever. So far, there's nothing of massive significance that I can justify getting tattooed.

Good decision, Ryan. I was thirty when I got my first tattoo, having spent two years designing it. The whole lizard thing was six years planning and saving up. By giving it plenty of time, you can make sure that what you get is really what you want.

Yeah, the tattoo on my hand I wish I had waited till I was VERY sure I wanted it. It was kind of a spur of the moment thing though. I tried to tattoo myself a chain and it turned out reallly badly...Don't ask, I was drunk and being stupid...but I went to have -that- covered up and told the tattoo artist...just put whatever you think would look good there. He drew up the branch and flower and all and I was really scared to say 'That's too girly' so I just went ahead with it. Was dumb on my part...but you live and learn, right? Hehe I've never been really masculine though, so people that know me as male just kind of put it off as 'Yeah, that's Wes for you...'

I've had a few moments of doubt re: flowers. The lizard tattoo will be finished up with small abstract flowers - forget-me-nots (blue) and agrimony (yellow), for any botanists out there. I did briefly think about changing the design, but after all, they'll reflect me - both flowers have significance attached to my personality and the idea of new life, so yeah, I decided to go with the flowers. maybe I'll get something REALLY butch somewhere else to even things out  :o

I never thought of it that way. I actually like that way of thinking about it. I just might keep the flower after all...it's a VERY nice tat..so why not? I should upload a pic of it. The guy did a very nice job considering the crap he had to cover up

I have a mario mushroom on my thumb.
I also want a tattoo of an X-wing starfighter from Star Wars. I actually booked it all in and had a set date, but I cancelled it cause I need to save to go private for T.

I know so many girls that get tattoos when they're between 15 and 17, just because they can. The only people that will tattoo them (being underage) are the local tattoo artists who are often struggling for work. Usually because they're crap artists.
And then what do they go and get? A standard "pretty" design from the book. Usually the standard flowers and stars with no significance whatsoever.
Sorry for the rant, but it annoys me so much!

17 has been my favourite number since I was a really little kid. No real life-changing significance, it just stuck. I've been tempted to have it tattooed somewhere, but not really sure on designs and location or anything really.

I want the pisces symbol between my shoulder blades. I've wanted that one for years.

I'm not sure if I'll ever get a tattoo, though.

I have a line drawing of a diamond on my left wrist, a sparrow on my upper arm and Krazy Kat on my right arm.  I wanna turn the sparrow into more of a sleeve, with oak leaves and maybe more birds.  I dig birds. I want heaps of tatts.  I wanna get a pawprint somewhere, a chest piece once I get top surgery and maybe stuff on the back of my calves, not sure yet.  And I want a good skull, cos I've always wanted one. I'm planning to get some Catholic themed tattoos too, I'm thinking altar boys, one on each calf. Looking angelic, but sexy.

I love tattoos.

Actually, a sparrow is something I'd possibly be interested in getting done too.
I'm not a bird nerd as such, but I really like them. I know quite a few different types and how to tell the different between sexes and stuff. It was just kind of passed on from my mum.

Maybe something like this:

That's an awesome sparrow! I got a male sparrow, with its black bib.  They are cool little birds.
  •

Ryan

Yeah, think I'd get a male too. Male birds are always better looking.
We've got so many sparrows living in our garden :)

dont have any yet but I plan on it. Just waiting a few years until I absolutely know what I want for the first. I even know a guy that'll do it. He asks he if I'm ready yet everytime I see him haha. But anyways..I'm thinking some sort of Anubis jackal tat, and perhaps an eye of Horus. Also I always really liked swallows for some reason, thoughi wouldn't want one too like, femme or anything. Also thinking about a way to incorporate my sign Scorpio in somewhere. I'm in love with classic cars so I really got to think of a good design for that. I was also thinking of a simple 'pink floyd' in that greenish diy color ink both cause I've always loved thAt band and they got me through a lot of rough patches, and I think it'd sort of be a tribute to my dad cause he has the same tat he did on himself around my age.

Ah, anyways that's all I can think of now. Btw Elvis, I've seen the photos of your tata before and they're mint, also cool ideas for future ones. Do u have concept art for the alter boys ones or will u draw them yourself? sounds interesting ;) (p.s. Sorry to keep calling you Elvis! I'll say Eli or whatever name from now if you'd rather)

also Bones, your last name is macleoud (sp?) ? Haha that's awesome it's like highlander. "there can only be one!". But anyways, I like the idea of name/ initials tattoos though I def wouldn't get anything like that for a while if at all

(ps sorry in advance for any random words/spelling mistakes. I wrote this on an iPod and it auto corrects words wrong a lot, ha)

I don't have any, but wow a sparrow is something I've thought of also. Growing up my mom would call me her little sparrow, because I've always been skinny and I'm her youngest child. Doesn't say that as much anymore since I'm taller than both my siblings and parents now  (they're just short :P). Probably won't get one for awhile, but it's something I'd like to do.

Hmm, come to think of it there are more tattoos I've thought about getting.

I've thought about getting a tattoo on my arm with the bird of prey(I think it's a hawk) holding a rose with my last name beneath it. Kind to signify my coat of arms. I've also thought about a wolf's head, tribal styled(I know, I know) on my deltoid to signify my animal totem. And I've also entertained a maple leaf over of my heart.

They've all got special meanings to me, but thinking about it and actually getting them are drastically different things.

Haha yeah! I get that a lot...was worse when the movies were very popular. Now I just start it up myself...
