Traffic Officer Toni Witten is a decorated, nine-year veteran of the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority (SDCRAA, or "Airport Authority"). In 2008, she won the "Spirit of SAN" award -- the second highest accommodation awarded to officers in performance of their duties.

Toni Witten is also a transsexual -- a transgender woman who began transitioning on the job just last November. Her coworkers didn't want her transitioning on the job, outing her to San Diego's Channel 10 News:
"Be yourself; everyone else is already taken." Oscar Wilde
