Southern radio hosts mock Obama's LGBT pride proclamation, condemn LGBT people

Rick Burgess and Bill "Bubba" Bussey, hosts of The Rick and Bubba Show which is syndicated throughout the south, went on what progressive blogger Pam Spaulding described as "incredible homophobic rant about sin, adultery, fornication and everything but the kitchen sink over the fact that the President declared June Pride month."

In the clip below, Burgess says, "There is, absolutely, no way, impossible, to biblically justify this lifestyle." He goes on to liken LGBT pride to "fornicator pride" day or "adulterer" appreciation day:
"Be yourself; everyone else is already taken." Oscar Wilde

The bible is worthless. If that is the standard by which they live their souls are dim and doomed for sure.

Has anyone ever met someone called Bubba who was normal?  :D

The Bible isn't worthless. It just needs a little intelegence to understand.

But most of what these people proclaim isn't in the Bible at all. What is, has been abrogated by Jesus.

You lose 10 points for associating Jesus with the word 'abrogated'. This is due to my theory that Jesus was part psychologist who did not have today's language with which to put forth his ideas. That's okay, though, because he did a very good job with the language he was forced to use (that of religion).

In the eyes of a nihilist, nothing is worth anything unless it happens to be at hand at the moment of its need. We don't need to live by laws created by long ago dead people. We need to create laws that reflect the times in which we live. Every century, these laws should be re-evaluated.

People 2000 years from now should not give a darn about the laws and morals of today.

I must warn you. I am the Trickster.   ::)

If your a grown man (and the one's I've meet tend to have grown to some Jabba the Hut size) calling themselves Bubba, then I'll pretty much discount anything you have to say before you even say it.

FIGHT APATHY!, or don't...

Both are obvious. Are you smoking canabis by any chance?

Funny they mention their Biblical world view.  In other words they have no intend to see the world as it really is.  They want to live in their narrow, bigoted, hateful little world, where they are legends in their own minds.

I get that impression as well Janet. Though I couldn't see the video for some reason.

I also get the impression that in the US, there seems to be a market for people to get onto the radio and say quite extreme things. I suppoe some markeying man sat down a while back and tried to think about what could be devised to make radio survive.

Over here its all dull music and inane chat.
