I was only thinking of this myself. None of my children sent me anything. I thought at least they could have sent a "Thinking of you card" even if they didn't want to send a fathers day card.

O! well, I thought as much. It still hurts a little and I don't suppose any of them will phone to see how I am after my surgery.

I got a "thinking of you" card for Mothers Day.  I don't expect to get one for Fathers Day, too.

There's plenty of GG woman who have not had a husband to take care of the kids thus she's both mom and dad...Heck! I celebrate Mother's and Father's day for my genetic mother!

There are several holidays that depress the hell out of me... I'm glad the one that depresses me most is over

on my favourite chatroom yesterday practically every one of us were saying the same thing about missing our children.

There's been a lot of talk around here the past several days about father's day and how we feel about our children seeing us as male.

One friend said, "This is the last father's day for me."  She plans on being fully transitioned by next year and doesn't want to be seen as a male figure by then.

Then there's the ones who want to hear from their kids, no matter how they want to refer to them.  "I don't really want to be seen as their dad but it would be nice to know they were thinking of me."

And there's, "It just feels weird to be thought of as 'Dad'."

Family and friends aren't the only ones challenged by our transition.

As far as our children alienating themselves from us, I just hope none of them lives to regret it.  But I believe most will.  Once they drop the anger and resentment, it's almost inevitable.

Then spent the afternoon with my boyfriend's family. That was nice.
