Hey All!

Just letting you know that after 3 months of hormones, non stop plucking, shaving and waxing my face, I have now uploaded pictures of how my facial hair looks after 1 week of not being plucked, shaved or waxed.

What do you think? (Sorry, they are uploaded to my blog, so I hope that no one minds me linking to my blog rather then hot-linking. My blog is listed in Susan's Directory)

That was 1 week without shaving, and no makeup on. I intentionally wanted to show just how little hair I had left.
Most of the black spots on my chin are malformed hairs that have grown into a sort of "bulb" under the skin, they can be dug out in most cases, and no bleeding occurs, but wow are they a pain in the back.

And yeah, this is only really noticeable up close, or if you are looking for it. I went out that same day without makeup on and still completely passed ^_^

Excellent progress there...I'm jealous. lol

Eh. I hate both of you, just so you know.

Getting better, but... unless you have absolutely no money, you are completely sabotaging yourself.

You have to let your hair grow unplucked/waxed for several months before going for laser... or it will be a waste of money. And plucking/waxing damages the roots of the hairs and makes electrolysis less effective.

Pretty soon, you'll be far enough in on hormones that it will be incredibly jarring to yourself and others to see any stubble, let alone real growth.

but it feel so good not to have to shave or rely on thick makeup.

I have dark hairs either side of mouth that are really noticeable...the laser isn't getting them.
plucking is good but of course they just grow back.
Soprano laser has removed all the penis hair ready for operation though...and electro has got most of chin and jaw but still a long way to go.

Two electrologists have told me "NO PLUCKING!"  And I've read the same from other electrologists.  They say it messes with the way the hair grows and makes permanent removal very difficult.

Just an FYI
When you judge others, you do not define them, you define yourself.

You definitely need laser or something going by the pics? I only had a couple of sessions of laser about 5 years ago and now I no longer get hair on my top lip. The laser kept the rest at bay for quite long time but now I've started to get it under my chin again but not anywhere else.

i'm hoping the 23rd laser treatment on my upper lip (maybe only the 22nd... or possibly the 24th) is done with my upper lip, now. Just a few dozen blonds here and there. Hopefully.

I have absolutely no money for laser, so I am relying on my meds, and plucking (Which gives a permanent result proven in many cases)

ƃuıxǝʌ There's a difference between keeping it real, and trolling. You walk the line over to trolling.

Regarding the length: The length of those hairs a no where near as long as 3 - 4mm, they are barely out of the skin in most cases, and the ingrown malformed hair is not out of the skin. From a reasonable distance of about 40 CM (And no one in Australia gets closer then that to you), they look more like blackheads then hairs or anything, plus a light amount of powder foundation covers them up nicely.

Thanks for the concerns about laser and electrolysis, I have no intentions of getting electrolysis, and I had laser in 1 patch on my face, I was originally going to get laser but lost my job due to being born a male, and transitioning to female. None the less, laser is not an option for me due to a lack of money.

Since I'm taking the strongest Anti-Androgen, I have already seen signs of body and facial hair loss as a result, not to mention I know a few people taking the same anti-androgens as me, who have had the same result with plucking and waxing. Permanent hair removal, and I can already see a complete reduction of the hair I have on my face, so in term, I am going to keep plucking, and waxing my face. Maybe I can go 2 weeks without shaving (Am aiming for it) or even longer if it gets reduced to such a point that it is completely managed by plucking and waxing.

Waxing also damages your skin and causes sagging/drooping/etc.

I think I'd try Nair's facial shaving stuff before waxing my entire face.

Actually - look into if any place near you does Threading. It's an east asian technique of dragging twined threads over the skin in order to rip out the hairs, without the trauma of waxing. I think I get better brows from my waxer, with less pain, but for the full face... threading might work for you. You have to hold the skin tight for the threader, so when I do my brows, i end up gouging my eyes out to hold the skin taut.

sarahm, I think you look really good. It's nice to hear you pass, despite the small amount of stubble. Honestly, there was a bio girl in my marine bio class last quarter who had that thin facial hair girls have but it was black man. She practically had a mustache and goat, and of course no one questioned her femininity over it. You look female, especially in your avatar pic. My ex girlfriend (also MTF) had stubble and no one really noticed unless they got super close to her face (granted she was a blond) but you know.

If you don't plan on getting electro then what you're doing probably isn't bad, just go with the flow. ;D if you had posted the same pics and said to look for something else like 'look at my lack there of adam's apple' I probably wouldn't have even noticed it.

Hey yeah, that's a really good idea, I never would of thought of that, Threading probably also catches the hairs that are a bit short for the wax too! Great suggestion, now I just need to find a place that does that here LOL! But again, thanks for the suggestion!
I use wax for sensitive skin, and with that, I also use a bit of TALC which helps the wax to come off the skin easily, without causing any nasty pull effects on my skin. Plus, Moisturizer! Very Important! :D

Oh thanks for that! It's a great compliment to hear, my upper lip hairs are that fine black hair that boys develop at the start of puberty, wont be long until it become peach fuzz (Maybe another 2 months or so)
I am very lucky that I don't really have a massive adams apple, my adams apple hardly even adds a bump to my skin, basically, it looks like about 40% of girls here in Australia. A larger voice box for yelling, but no adams apple (Even though mine is there, but not really very big or noticeable)

Laser is very expensive here in the U.K and I don't have the money either and I'm pretty much in the same financial situation but for me it's the best option. Anti - androgens do also help a bit. I'm now trying to shop around for a cheap deal on laser.

Do it yourself.  I did.  I haven't shaved in 13 years.  The occasional pluck of light blond or white hair here and there and that's about it.

That is so impressive for not shaving for a week!  ;D You do have some stubble, but it's something you might expect to see on a post-menopausal woman instead of a man. Not only that, but you have some really gorgeous features!

Don't waste money on those home lasers RIO and similar...they just aren't powerful enough to do the job.

I don't know about the RIO specifically but, I have seen firsthand (on other people unfortunately) positive results from the Tria laser which IIRC is the only home laser cleared by the FDA in the US. You can buy CE certified units, but I don't think the testing is very through, especially after reading some reviews on the EPILA....

As far as power goes, I hear that the new EPILA units are putting more scars on people than removing hair. From reading some reviews, it seems that too much power is more of a problem then not enough.

BTW: The Tria isn't supposed to be used on the facial hair, but it seems plenty of people do...

Thanks :) it's not been easy and is not very easy to keep up with. My growth is so slow right now, I need to wait a week before I can actually wax, so shaving every day sucks, because the hair doesn't grow long enough for my tweezers to grip and rip.

Well, the hairs grow at different rates, and they are thinning. I now have patches, and the hairs are quite spaced apart, so there has been dramatic reduction, to top that off, there are some lovely thin, white / blonde / skin unpigmented hair there, not just black and yuck. But yeah, growing it to attack it is the biggest problem, especially since I am full time.
