Speaking of handbags, my girlfriend and the majority of her friends all have this...thing with handbags.

Ok I understand that. You need a place to keep your money safe and organized. That's what we call a wallet.

(This happens when I see them in a school setting) Last but not least...so they have this huge bag on their shoulder yeah...that has their mini purse and wallet inside that mini purse...then they are LUGGING around this backpack with their laptop, and like 2 books inside...that could easily be fit into their HUGE handbag that has their stupid mini purse inside and their little wallet inside...

I have asked them to explain why they do this MULTIPLE TIMES...sometimes they don't seem to know themselves. It bothers me.

Best day of my life was when I threw my purse in the trash and went to a wallet (duh!).  The only thing that tripped me up early in transition was that monthly scourge and where to carry that stuff.  Duh. Cargo pants.

I own 6 or 7 different type of handbags, but all are large enough to fit what I need in them.  I have them to go with different outfits and different moods and different atmospheres.  I love shoe stores, too, but I only buy shoes that I can walk in and where comfortably because I've had surgery on my toes.

I have a big handbag and then I have a bookbag.  Both are meant to hold different things for me.  The handbag holds personal stuff and then things like fun stuff (DS and books) and the bookbag is for school stuff.

Anyway...I don't get along with bio girls, at least not well enough to talk to them outside of school.  I can't seem to grasp anything they want to do, but MtFs seem to be the exception to that.  I get along amazingly well with MtFs and I have no idea why.  I also get along better with guys and understand them for the most part, but if they're a feminine guy we get along even better.

I guess I just don't understand people who are too feminine or too masculine.

Speaking of purses: I still carry a messenger bag because I usually wear skinny jeans. It's actually a messenger bag for guys. I always carry my digital camera around, my glasses, chapstick (dry lips are gross haha), and those oil absorbing sheets (I'm an oily dude). I just can't fit all that into my pants >.> I am a bag and shoe whore. I have a ton of different messenger bags and like 10 pairs of shoes.

I don't understand the whole bag inside a bag inside a bag thing though.

I never, ever, ever in a million years would have carried a purse. Actually, when I was a little kid, I made a big deal out of swearing up and down that I would never have one.

Basically, my theory is that the stuff you carry expands to fill the space you have to carry it. Limit yourself to pockets, and you'll never be too weighed down.

I actually went thro a stage of denial in my twenties and mum bought me a handbag for christmas. It got left in every single place i went to cos i just used to forget about it. Me and handbags were obviously never meant to be a match

I also swore I'd never have a purse...and yet I find myself with a bunch of them.  If I limited myself to pockets, I wouldn't have the necessary things I need in case of an emergency.  Plus, I like having a book with me just in case I go somewhere for lunch....

Though I agree.  The bigger the purse, the more stuff I carry.

Don't worry the ipad makes man purses okay now. haha

I need my personal phone book because my cellphone only makes 911 calls, and I can't ever remember my parents' phone number or the country code to call them. 

And I'm fond of carrying mace because I'm not physically capable of fending someone off with a pocketknife. *grumbles about weak arms*

"A knife is a tool, not a weapon".

Though as a martial artist, you learn very fast that a knife can be a weapon.

Whoops, misunderstood--but I know people who can use a pocketknife to fend people off, makes me a bit jealous.  I just use my hands if something needs cutting because I'm too lazy to get scissors and then I keep forgetting to put the pocketknife in my purse.  Though my pocketknife is pretty bada**, the thing is still really sharp despite being used to carve a pumpkin.

Are u allowed pocket knifes over there? I may be wrong but i'm 99% we're not allowed by law- unless u can prove your a fisherman!

Pocketknives are allowed.  I think if you get into a fight, though, your obliged to tell your opponent you have a knife so that way you can use it without any legal repercussions.

For me, a knife is a tool and a weapon.  I don't have physical stamina to fight people off...so a knife or mace is awesome.  As long as said person doesn't touch me, if you touch me I'll fall instantly to the ground with a scream (that's partially joking, if I was in serious danger I'd probably go running, but if you're a friend and you touch me [like wrestling] I will fall to the ground and squeal).

I think it depends on which state you live in. In the UK you can carry a pocket knife with a blade of 3 inches or less.

that would be strange, I didn't know there was any country that banned small pocket knives.

I've always had this problem too!  Girls in general just seem rather boring to me, and many are quite annoying.  They talk and talk and talk and talk and never shut up.  I'm quiet by nature, and I just don't see the point of yapping about anything and everything.  Plus, about 99% of the time it's a conversation about shoes/clothes/other girly things I don't care about.

I don't get the purse thing either!  My sister has a huge purse that she has to lug around everywhere she goes.  It's got all kinds of ridiculous stuff in it.  For me, I can carry everything I need in my pockets.  Cell phone, driver's license, debit card, and a pocket knife.  (Useful for cutting things and I'm not afraid to use it as a weapon.)  I can't think of anything else I'd need on a daily basis, although when I need my laptop I carry it in a messenger style case slung across my body.  And what's up with girl pants having absolutely useless pockets?  They drive me mad!

As far as knives go, I wasn't aware of any laws banning them as long as the blade is 3" or less and it's not a switchblade.  (I live in the US.)
