I have been told that I don't have a female aura about me. It is starting to make me mad. How is it that everyone expects you to have something to prove yourself to them that you are a transwoman. What is this aura? they say that you can close your eyes and just know that the person is male or female. Has anyone had someone say something like this to you?

Yeah, I live in California so I hear crap like that all the time, turns out those people a) are on drugs, b) have been on drugs, c) ought to be on drugs - so either way, anyway, I'm good.

the reason I am asking this my wife said this to me. I know she is trying to make me loose my confidence and shrink back into my corner. I need help dealing with this I can't just walk away or I would. She said she would help, but all that she has done so far is through my G.I.D in my face. 

People will do that to you. Especially people who are in doubt/denial/do not WANT you to change. Wives are notorious for this. They married a man, and often, want their man to stay a man.

I was told by several people that I would make an ugly girl, that I do not look female, that I'm not feminine, including my mother and my first female partner. People who meet me now have no idea and can't see me as a guy, people who I get outed to tell me that they'd never know, and that I'm so naturally feminine, without the stereotypical 'flaming' they expect, and my current GF even told me that I'm more feminine than any of the other women she's been with. I'm not even that girly, jeez.

The 'female aura' is coming to terms with yourself, and letting your actual personality slip through the cracks of what has been built up. consciously and subconsciously, you know how you can and cannot act - and it's when you start breaking through that that you get to be yourself.

I told myself that I would never wear a dress because I am more tom boyish, but to day I was in Wal-Mart and saw a summer dress that looked great. It was brown with little light yellow flowers all over it. thin straps with ruffle all over it. Mmm..... Aura's are of the person, not the persons gender. And even then, you can't tell what a person is like from their aura. Basically, the aura, is a feeling that someone sensitive to it, can use to distinguish who the person is. I.E. A dog can tell who "Mark" and "George" are, just by smell. The same can be done by people.
Basically, the Aura is more or less a feeling of someone.

Some people whom are socially withdrawn, can feel when someone is around, these people also become sensitive to other feelings and in most cases, can feel who it is that is around.

I would not say that it is magic, or psychic or something as far fetched as that. I would say it is more or less a detection of body heat, or a slight heat change, or even acute pheromone and body smell detection.


Basically, no one can physically, or "spiritually" tell if you are male or female transgender. So basically, the best way to Prove it, is to prove how much happier you are, being yourself in front of them, or in public.

When someone wants to convert to judaism it is the rabbi's job to refuse or dissuade you with all his or her might 3 times. If you persist it is then the rabbi's job to teach all there is to know about being a jew and help you feel like a member of the community.

I hope this is the mentality your wife has taken on. To continually dissuade you until your persistence forces her to accept you and welcome you.

The easiest way to deal with that, without having to prove anything, is to adopt an inquisitive approach and ask the person who tells you this what they believe this 'aura' or 'vibe' to be. Ask them to be specific. Prepare for vagueries and 'fuzzy' answers. Keep pressing them, asking what definitive traits this aura has, and if this applies to everyone in different scenarios.

There's a saying... give someone enough rope and they'll eventually hang themselves. And the people who say this to you, there's a very good chance that, under scrutiny, they actually know what they're saying about as much as your local mechanic giving an intricately detailed lecture on the mating habits of the Lesser Spotted Guatamalan Miming Spider.

A vast majority of this 'aura' talk, is shorthand for 'subtle sensory input, subconsciously processed on an instinctive level to such a degree that it cannot immediately be identified by the conscious mind and is therefore deemed to be something "outside" the individual'.

What someone means when they say you don't have this 'aura' or that 'vibe', is that you don't fit their pre-concieved notion of whatever it is they believe such an 'aura' to be. And why would you? Perhaps more to the point... why would you want to? You are who you are. Not who someone thinks you are or are not. And the only person who knows who that is, is you.

So... don't sweat it.
