Hello! I'm hoping to get involved with like minded people, and learn some things about the trans community too. I just came out to my family, and I have decided to spend my summer trying to find out more about myself before heading to university.

Thank you! I made sure to read through the rules first, but the other links are really helpful!
Coming out is a bit of a work in progress, because I'm still trying to figure out what I am. Still, my mother accepts me for who I am, and that's pretty great.

I've had pretty good luck with people who accept me as a person.  They then accept me as either male or female or whatever.  It sounds like your mother is in your corner as you figure it out.

SchoolyardHeroes are very good!  Great choice!

Me?  I'm a big-time "music freak" and like anything that's good from any time period and in any style.  You recommend it ... I'll listen to it!  Always open to great tunes!

You say you're not really into heavy metal.  I understand and respect that.  I wasn't either at one point.  A friend got me into it with "half-way" tunes:  Music that is heavier but not considered heavy metal.  In the old days, they called it Hard Rock.  Ever heard of The Hard Rock Cafe (a chain now)?  The original place was named after THIS kind of music.
