Hi All,

We all wanted to be something when we were young (children I mean, before societies roles and stereotypes were imposed)

For me, when all my friends were going to be firemen, police officers and racing drivers, I was going to be a Hairdresser/Makeup artist

Still with me, still haven't done anything about it...Until last week, I started making some enquiries,

"It's true that we don't know what we've got until we lose it, but it's also true that we don't know what we've been missing until it arrives." - Unknown

I've always wanted to be an actress and a singer!

if i could do anything, and i mean anything i wanted, i would be a fashion model, but i'm not to sure about it, just because it can be a pretty ugly industry when it's all about how other people want you to look, so i'm leaning more toward being a hairstylist or a fashion photographer, and that's just me being myself without worrying about stereotypes or any other influences.

My dream career for most of my pre-highschool childhood was to be an astronomer.

I wanted to be a ballerina-doctor-bus drive all at the same time.

I wanted to be sooo many different things. Fireman, paleontologist (Until I realized that the job consists of tedious brushing at dirt), wildlife photographer, cryptozoologist... now I'm not sure anymore. I would like to get a job in social work so I can help victims of abuse, but I have heard that it is difficult getting a job in that field.

We've a small demand for social workers in So. Mississippi.  Mm...cryptozoology and paleontology--I'm going to go back to get a degree in Paleontology.

It may not be a high valued ambition, but I wanted to be like my Mom.  A housewife and Mother.  Imagine my disappointment to find out I was not meant to be that.

Darn, another one lost the dark side, what do they have that we don't? I heard cookies, but that must be lies... they are the dark side.

I actually just wanted to be rich enough to pay off all my parents debts, and then be a writer. I've always been scared of bills since I knew about them, but I've also always wanted to write.

Still working on both parts of that dream.

I wanted to be a nun...I wasn't even religious, just liked the idea.

Then a RAF pilot...far too short-sighted for that. And I hate heights. And being upside-down.

A potter. No artistic talent at all.

An occupational therapist...put off the idea by my Mum telling me I was 'too clever' (ha ha ha)

Ended up a teacher, which I hate.
Maybe one day I'll be a habit-wearing, vase-spinning, high-flying helper of the needy. Who knows!  8)

I don't really remember wanting to be anything when I grew up as a child. I may have had something, though.
I have no concrete idea of my gender identity, but I believe I am an Androgyne.

Idem ditto. Must've been 6 years old then. I remember that little 'round with the teacher 'What do you want to be when you grow up'... And then after all the kids did their tell I started crying because all the other 'girls' had said they wanted to be a Mom... 'But I don't want to be a mom! I want to be an astronomer!..' Took my teach a long-long time to calm me down..  8)

Boringly I wanted to either be a storyteller (which is what I am now at last working to become)

OR

in complete moments of madness I used to fantasise about becoming a scientist and inventing a time machine so that I could go back and somehow prevent my Y chromasome from working... or a biologist who could create a plague that I would then infect myself with and would turn me female! Talk about crazy - but I was a most fanciful child who walked around in a strange dream world of my own most of the time.

As you can tell from the fact that I have a Bsc in physics and an MA in creative writing the madness won initially, but after repeated failure to invent a viable time machine I gave up, had SRS and pursued plan B!

It's a wonder I didn't end up delusional - although I suppose some people who don't get the SRS and transition thing might maintain that I did! ;D Ah well At least I'm living the dream  (Or am i..? maybe this is all a drug induced hallucination...  :police: yes doctor I'm coming for my next injection now!)

When I was little, I wanted to be a whole range of things. XD Zoologist, Marinebiologist, Veternarian, Doctor.. When I got a tad bit older I wanted to be things that were a tad bit..strange, like a vampire, werewolf, or like the character Danny Phantom. XD

But now, I want to aim for being a Geography Teacher, Doctor, Voice Actor, or Photographer.

Hurtfulsplash

That's always been a tough question for me because I never could decide what I wanted to be no matter how hard I thought about it. I'm still the same way, just cursed with very little motivation I guess.
