I've been on T for 8 months.  I find it harder to do my shot.  Not like the afraid of needles kind.  My skin and muscle are thicker and it's a lot harder to poke through with a sharp needle.  It's harder to go through even when you get through the skin part.  It just hurts more than it used to.
I switch the needle so I know it's sharp.

For you guys who've been on it for a while, do you think so too?

I've heard you can inject into scar tissue caused by previous injections, but I may be completely wrong and that may not be the case in this situation.

I find the same as graham.

might need to switch needle brands, my experience is kendall is more consistent at the cost of not quite as sharp as BD, although i've had a dud BD needle that caused a good deal of pain.
Soft kitty, warm kitty, little ball of fur. Happy kitty, sleepy kitty, purr, purr, purr.

I have the same problem. It takes me FOREVER to give myself my shot.  Take a shower/bath right before your shot.  Then it'll go in like buttahhh

Might be skin and muscle strengthening/thickening from the T. I've had the opposite results from my E/P injections... now its sometimes too easy to stick myself (and completely miss my target OUCH!)

scar tissue does build up, as does muscle. muscle hurts more to go through as well. Plus, if you're stressing about it, the muscle tenses up and is harder to puncture. (think chinese finger trap)

That being said, I also agree with other people about the whole different brands are sharper than others. Just be careful and maybe talk to your doctor about it too, seeing if they can maybe switch it up for you. They may even offer you a few sample sharps.

I scrutinize my leg before I do my shot, make sure I don't see any veins where I'm gonna stab myself. I've only bled once and it went down my leg but think about it, you inject the T way into your muscle. It's the vein that you nicked bleeding, not your muscle. So you should be good.
