I smoke cigarettes. I read that you can't get on HRT if you smoke. Is that true?

tekla

In California if you can write the check, you can get someone to prescribe HRT for you.

Meaning if you can pay, they don't care?

tekla

Exactly, what in this state does that NOT apply to?

You can get HRT if you smoke, but be ready for the "You are need to quit, seeing you are take Estrogen" speech every time you see your doctor.  Hell you hear it every time even if you are not on HRT.  ;D

You're young, andthenwekisss, try to quit.  You don't want to be 56 and still smoke.  I have been smoking since I was 13, and it costs me in my health.

I've only been smoking 6 or 7 months, and I think I'll probably quit between now and whenever I start HRT. I do enjoy it and maybe I'll have one every now and then but it's not something I can't live without lol. I just like it. I wish it wasn't bad lol.

That's the basic take for most drugs.  We were talking about this the other night at work when we were all discussing our last acid trip and how much of a bummer it is that we no longer have the day and a half/two days needed to recover from that anymore.

Every now and then, hubby and I will splurge on a bottle or two, or three, or a whole box, of wine.

We choose a wine we can enjoy, and for the first two glasses, we discuss the wine.
Then sometimes.. we get good and silly and don't care 'bout it anymore.

I also enjoy a pipe now and then. Sunday's Finest or Sweet Dublin being the tobacco I tend to put in it.
If it wasn't for the law I'd put something else in my pipe and smoke it, but...

Occationally, I'll roll cigarettes from the pipe tobacco, usually when it's become a bit more dry than when it's "new".
Sweet Dublin rolled cigarettes are incredibly smooth and gentle.

Fata Morgana

I started smoking at the age of 15 and I started drinking when I was 20.

I've tried to quit smoking 4 times, always cold turkey. The longest period I've survived without cigarettes when trying to quit was 1 full year. Such a shame I fell back after such an achievement. I smoke about 15 cigarettes per day. Sometimes more. My drinking habit consists of a glass of red wine every weekend.

Everybody picks their own poison.  :)

I smoke the herb multiple times a day.  It makes my mood better, helps me sleep, takes away pain in my joints, why is this illegal again?

As for cigarettes and booze, I can take or leave 'em.

Maybe I sound pathetic but my only drug is caffeine. I have a serious soda problem that has me spending about $50 a week on soda. Though lately I've been working on changing that and saving the cash to go towards insurance so that I can get on T. Tried cigarettes and hated them.

Jam

I don't smoke at all and occasionally drink.

I had a horrible experience once, i was tipsy and the people in the room i was in started smoking weed. I went NUTS, starting punching myself in the face and tried to strangle myself. Was like i was just a passenger and wasn't in control. My mind was screaming at me to stop hurting myself but i couldn't make my fists stop, i honestly got scared at one point that i would kill myself. Was scary, i'm not going anywhere near that stuff ever.

I dont know why that happened  :-\

All of my substance abuse I don't consider abuse, some of it yes. I think all the acid I took actually helped me to see beyond myself, melt my ego and expand my comprehension (consiousness). Doing peyote or mushrooms with the right person can really take a relationship to another place. Music becomes magic.

I drink (beer)  heavily just about every day, and I smoke cigs when I drink, but only about 2-3 packs a weeks. I'd like to quit but I enjoy the buzz and I have nothing else to do with my time.

i went with alcohol :occasionally , smoking and/or softdrugs:very rarely

although like 18~20 months  ago i would go like, smoking: a lot (as in terms of type of plants (tobacco or other )inside and in terms of ' a lot more often') , alcohol :drinking myself into a coma whenever i can
i like to experiment , so trying out some hard-drugs once or twice may or may not have happened :P
