Farm Boy

So today I brought my mom with me to my therapist appointment and came out to her that way.  I was really nervous and embarrassed and afraid to do it, but I decided that I needed to, and if I didn't just get it over with I'd keep putting it off and putting it off.

Anyway, it went great!  She took it really well, and said that she wasn't actually surprised!  She then proceeded to talk about how she's kind of always wondered.  Pretty much that session consisted of her asking questions and talking to my therapist.  When the subject of HRT came up she actually asked her how she could get a doctor to prescribe them to me, if I decided I wanted them.  She also said she thinks my step-dad would be fine with it, and that she won't tell anybody if I don't want her to.  The best part, of course, was that she said that she just wanted me to be happy and that she loved me no matter what.  I couldn't have asked for a better reaction.  My mom is awesome and I love her. :)

I'm so psyched about this.  No more "Why are you seeing a therapist?"  "Uh.... because...?"  I'm finally moving forward, and it feels good! :D

Congrats!

It's always heartening, at least to me, to read about the "coming out" going well.

I'm glad she took it good! =)

omg!
That is so wonderful.
So it is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you can win a hundred battles without a single loss.
If you only know yourself, but not your opponent, you may win or may lose.
If you know neither yourself nor your enemy, you will always endanger yourself.

Hell yeah!  :eusa_dance: Bloody glad to read that it went that well buddy.
No more excuses, no more question dodging. You can finally be open with her.
That's great! Heck, I'd have a drink in your honour but I'm actually a bit hung over haha.
Talk to you soon anyhow. :)

I agree!  Perhaps I should make her one... :)

its good to grow up in this day and age, my mom probably would have passed out.  I think your mom already knew ahead of time which helped.  Its good to start so early, i am sure you will turn out great.  Good luck, its a rough road ahead of you.

It's great to hear how well it went for you.. Mothers are often more perceptive than we give them credit for, I know mine is. I hope my mother is a cool as yours when I come out to her..
