THE Zimbabwe Amateur Boxing Association (Zaba) has barred controversial gender bender Mduduzi Ngwenya, aka Gamuchirai Sibanda aka Samukeliso Sithole from boxing as a woman.

The athlete has a history of masquerading as a female athlete, including representing Zimbabwe at the Southern Africa Youth Championships in Mauritius in May 2004.

Goodwill Sibanda, the Zaba secretary-general said he had written to all boxing clubs instructing them to bar Ngwenya from boxing competitions until their inquiry into his behaviour is over.
