My name is Joanna. I'm 22 years old and a MtF.
From a very young age I knew that I was somehow different compared to other children around me. Played with barbie dolls, wanted to wear dresses etc...
This behaviour of mine was driving my family crazy and they dragged me to various different psychiatrists and doctors until one of them realized what I am and told my parents that there's nothing wrong with me. She became a close friend and helped me begin the transition when I was legally old enough for it.
I started my transition at the age of 18 and I've been on HRT for 4 years now. My gender has been corrected into all official paperwork and I have changed my name.
Life is smiling... Nothing else I can say. I just recently discovered this forum and thought I would like to join in.
