I prefer stockings. :D

Nero, OMG you're a CD :D

I don't think that one is better than the other than each has their uses.  I know that for that sexy, temptress look, men seem to like the look of garters and stockings, and l can see when wearing stockings as opposed to panty hose would be beneficial/recommended such as after SRS, where you still maybe a little tender to be wearing panty hose.

Just my thoughts.

Agree!  wouldn't it be pure functionality if i had panty hose on under my ski bibs??? hehe.. You'll never know cause I'm not a kiss and tell girl!
I agree with Steph's,  they both serve various purposes IMHO

I hate pantyhose.  Always a pain in the ladies room.

I normally wear slacks or long skirts to work, but some of my old colleagues do appreciate a little leg now and then.

When I wear a suit or skirt just below the knee, I wear thigh highs.  Much easier to deal with.

BTW, did I say... I Hate Pantyhose!!!

I have to agree with reikirobyn, hate pantyhose.First time I wore pantyhose I thought was very feminine but they are just to hard to deal with to hot. I preferr knee hights myself with slacks or jeans, womens of coarse.

Sorry everyone but when I want to feel real feminine I wear pantyhose with a skirt.  :o
They do keep you warm so I prefer to wear them from fall thru spring. I also love wear silk stockings.
And no one mentioned tights I like them to in colder weather.
:) :)

First of all, I believe that femininity or masculinity comes from within.  Second, I like wearing pantyhose or tights along with a pretty skirt. When it comes down to it, I just like how they feel (soft) and I think this is mostly a personal thing.  But mostly, it allows me to express me femininity rather than making me feel feminine.  I view female clothing style as a way of expressing one's self, just as an artist does with their artwork.

I much prefer stay up thigh highs
with skirts (George brand)
and knee highs with pants.
Pantyhose to me are a royal pain.

I prefer pantyhose with skirts and dresses, but with slacks I wear trouser socks.  Today I am wearing jeans and sandals, so I am barefoot.  8)

Knee hi's work fine for me when wearing slacks.  They are comfortable and inexpensive.  When I wear a skirt, however, pantyhose are essential.  Imagine wearing knee hi's with a skirt? :)

I like them both  8) 8) 8)

When it's cold it so nice to wear warm pantyhose with any skirt...
Also I think some of the body shaping pantyhose gives my butt more feminine look  ::) ::)

But the stockings makes me feel quite feminine  8)

For me, (just like the underwear question), it's mostly a texture/situational thing.  The feel of nylon on my legs was my original introduction to the joys of crossdressing and still just feels essential to my expression of my feminine side.  (Also, along with panties, hose are one of the two things I can wear when dressed as a man for work.)  Pantyhose, to me, actually seem more convenient than stockings, although few things make me feel sexier than stockings and garters--belt, corset, whatever.  I also like the look, feel and variety of tights, but don't get to wearthem as often as I'd like.  I like thigh highs, but I never feel quite safe in the less expensive brands since they seem to have a tendency to loosen and begin to slide down my legs.  Anyone have any suggestions or brand recommendations for that issue?

Perhaps one of the reasons some people don't like pantyhose is because they've only tried the cheap brands (which suck).  I generally only get the higher quality type in department stores (JCPenney, Macy's), since the comfort level and look is much better.  Another factor is someobdy's weight.  If you weigh over a certain amount, I have noticed that it can be really uncomfortable to wear.  As long as I stay within my ideal weight range, they seem to fit fine.  Plus you can put together some really great looking outfits.  Last Saturday I went out wearing a little black dress, black tights and black leather boots (I love boots).  It was kind of a sexy/goth look that was a bit unusual, but looked really great.  Actually, I love the effect of wearing boots and a dress.  Of course it helps having some fashion sense. ;)

My Darlin's,

I prefer thigh high, stay up stockings over pantyhose,
from a purely functional stand point.

You do not have to lower, raise and
adjust stockings everytime you....

....and guys think they're sexier.

Functionally, I like pantyhose better, since they hold a good tuck job in place. ;)

what is bether?

You folks make it sound that women don't pay attention to or like wearing pantyhose, and if they did, whew, what kind of women are they. Like, wanting to feel sexy? Be warm in the winter? To cover our legs? To Match our outfit? To look professional? And on and on. Granted wearing them is a pain, and the first thing that comes off when you get home, but they are a part of a woman's life and you wear what fits the situation, unless of course, you're one of those "feminist" (please, tongue in cheek here). Have you tried top of the line hosiery? Not Victoria Secrets either, but Wolford, etc., or even some found at Nordstroms?  You just might have to rethink your view of them.

Melissa,

I find that a tight panty girdle pulled up in back,
as in the style of a thong, over a good tuck job,
is quite sufficient, for me anyways.

I stay tucked all my waking hours and
wear tight slacks and shorts with no probs

Sounds uncomfortable.  I really can't stand any thong-like underwear.  But to each their own preference. :)
