I see a cardiologist today to get the heart palpitations I was having checked out. I'm suspecting they're gonna do an ekg and echo. It's the echo I fear cause that involves them putting that ultrasound thing on your chest to look at your heart. Will they be able to do that without me taking off my binder? Cause I'm at the point lately where if they did that I'd say no, thanks...and walk out.

I think you have to take the binder off.  They'll cover your chest with a gown, though, so it won't be visible and then they'll do the test.  It doesn't take too long, from what I remember.

Oh #(*$#&$(*#&%&*.

That's what's going through my head right now. I'm freaking out. Cause if this doctor is obvious an ahole towards trans people that's gonna increase my dysphoria tenfold and I don't want to deal with it or the humiliation.

I hope the doctor is smart enough to just ask "please remove all clothing" and just let it be.  I hope he's not a prick.

When i had a EKG done, i was wearing  a sports bra at the time and they let me wear it, i dont think they will make you take it off

Ok so the results are...

Their staff was very friendly and understanding. They did an EKG and put the stickies just below and above my binder (tri top). The doctor was really cool about it and seemed interested rather than freaked out by me. I have to go back for an echo on Tuesday and I'm pretty sure I have to take it off for that but I feel comfortable enough with the doctor now that if he does it I guess I'll be ok. A friend of mine offered to let me call him and have him talk to the tech as a patient advocate if I need him too though.
