I know this is a popular pomade, but I've yet to try it.

How healthy is it to use in your hair? Are there any chemicals that wreck havoc on your hair? I know Axe's pomade has had reports of people losing their hair, and I'm not sure if I believe it entirely or not. I'd think they'd pull it off the market if chemicals in it were causing hair to fall out, but it left my hair feeling really greasy.

Any other suggestions are welcome.

Hmm if you're bothered by the grease then you might want to give brylcreem a go.  8)

"I'd think they'd pull it off the market if chemicals in it were causing hair to fall out"
only if it were a LOT of people. If you've heard rumors about it, chances are it is a possibility for a small percentage of users.
and I've used samples of the axe pomade, and I don't remember my hair being all that greasy. It was just too stiff for my liking.
that's about all I feel qualified to say. hopefully someone who knows more about hair care will visit this thread.

I'm looking it up, it seems pretty ideal. Might try it out.

Yeah, true. It might just be a small percentage of people and at that point it's simply anecdotal.

That's interesting, though. It never made my hair stiff. I get that pomade isn't supposed to really dry, but it seemed kind of ridiculous how greasy it felt. I only used a finger tip of it too.

Just remember that Murray's is insanely hard to get out and that for some people, it sticks around even after washing their hair! :)
You only have to use a tiny amount.

Yeah, I hear some people have to use dishwashing liquid. Lol, there has to be a better way or another product.

Got2be, Gatsby (maybe hard to get?), Fructis and D:FL are popular too and seem to work just as good. I personally use Got2Be and it's kind of sticky on your hands but it's easy to wash out.

I saw Got2Be at the drugmart the other day. I may go pick it up today and try it out.

I use got2be, they have a bunch of different types depending on if you want a tiny bit of gel on short hair or a massive mohawk and all of them work nicely  :P
