I was prescribed testosterone enanthate.  I know we are not allowed to discuss dosages, so I will respect that rule.  I have read that enanthate, while apparently causing less acne and other undesirable side effects, also takes longer to cause changes.  Now, I don't care about facial or body hair that much, but I do care about fat redistribution and voice change.  On that site, it said there might be a 3-6 month delay; that's pretty crazy.  Is it true that cypionate and enanthate are so different in how fast they cause changes?  Is there anyone who is on enanthate instead of cypionate and can share some experiences?

WHAT? 3-6 month delay? That's BS.  I've been on T enanthate for 12 months and I noticed changes within the first week. They happened very rapidly. Voice settled around the 3 month mark and I can currently grow a decent amish beard.

I'd stick with the Enanthate.  I know someone who was originally put on cypinate and switched to enanthate after a year.  His acne cleared up as soon as he switched

Wow.  Well, I think this site was pretty well-known for trans information.  I think I just googled the different types of Testosterone and found that site.  I'm glad to hear your experience was not bad with Enanthate.  I was planning on sticking with it, too.  So people do experience less acne with enanthate?  That's interesting.  Are there any theories as to why?

Really?  I've actually haven't heard that before.  Oh well.

The acne is worse because cypionate is suspended in cotton seed oil.  This causes inflammation that promotes acne growth

I think it is different for everyone.  The only difference in the 2 is what they are combined with cypionate with cottonseed and enanthate with sesame.  Because of the difference in the oils cypionate may have a tiny bit slower release time.  i am on cypionate and it has been 15 days today, i haven't had any facial acne but a few breakouts on my back.  As far as other changes i think it is working quite well, but again everyone is different i have friends that break out on both so maybe it just depends on the individual persons body?

Hmm, I've been on Enanthate for almost 2 weeks, I think my acne is getting better but it may be unrelated.  Haven't noticed anything more than usual, for sure.  If it does cause inflammation, that might explain it.

I do weekly injections so the release time isn't too much of a concern for me; I just don't want to be trapped in the in-between time for 3-6 months longer!   :o  That's a crazy idea.

According to a fairly popular FTM guide this is only typical if you're talking about name brand T, the difference is in the chemical formula--I go through a compounding pharmacy so my current vial is Cypionate in sesame oil.  I've never read anything that concludes there being such a gap between the two esters, and considering how differently each body reacts, v shot schedule, v dosage, etc., I think it would be difficult to tell from anecdotal evidence alone.

I use cyp suspended in sesame oil. The oil it's in depends on what the pharmacy or manufacturer mixes it with. I get mine through a compounding pharmacy so it's mixed in different oils. I've had major acne so far on my face, back and arms but I had that during my first puberty. So yeah. I don't think it really matters. I've read that ethanate vs cyp vs propinate (rarely used I think) take different amounts of time to fully saturate the blood but that doesn't necessarily make any sort of changes happen any faster. I've had pretty fast changes myself.
